Q: Where do you think this might bottom out? I sold half around 11. It’s in my rif so no tax issue. Just blow it out??

Q: Capital Power has performed extremely well this year, for a utility stock especially. I am wondering how much more room it might have to run. I also hold AQN at a loss large enough to eliminate my gain on selling CPX, so tax considerations are not an issue. I am pondering the wisdom of selling both AQN and CPX and replacing with another utility such as BEP.UN. I am looking at capturing a yield >5%. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Can you comment on Vitahub's results? Why is Algonquin down so much as it was expected the company would sells its renewable business? Given lumine group results, is it better to move monies into topicus or csu? Lastly does it matter if company reports before the market or after the market?

Q: Given the recent dividend cut and share price decline, is AQN now a viable takeover candidate? I understand that an asset manager had acquired as small stake recently that gave them some seats on the board and they are pushing for change. The PB is cheap but they have a lot of debt. What is this company possibly worth per share if all debt was paid off?

Q: Hello, I own AQN in an RRSP account and would like to sell it. It will be a loss since I paid over 2 times what it is currently trading at.

I can sell it now or wait a few months. Does this stock typically increase during the fall as the seasons change? I am also wondering whether to wait for the next dividend payment. I understand that AQN may be selling off assets, presumably to raise cash, given it's high debt levels.

Any input on AQN would be helpful. Thank you.

Q: Good morning 5i,
I just read your excellent report on Canadian companies which could rebound with a changing economic environment, especially concerning rate cuts. You mentionned AQN and a Brookfield clean energy company.

I imagine the same dynamics would hold for US stocks. I was wondering specifically, whether ICLN might be an American company similar to the Canadian ones you mention?

Q: Hello. I’ve held Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN) for quite some time now. Unfortunately, all the gains have vanished, and the investment has turned negative in my non-registered account. Should I sell, hold, or consider other options? I also have Brookfield Renewable Partners (BEP.un), Brookfield Infrastructure Partners (BIP.un), Fortis, Enbridge, Telus, BCE, TD, SLF, NWC, BAM, PFE and Exchange Income Corp in my portfolio.
