Q: AC has made some good progress recently . At present , the price is 24.78. I'm still below my cost of 25.30.Air lines in general seem to be making good profits. I would like to sell around $30.00. It will probably go higher. Have you any comments ? Thanks

Q: Was hoping Air Canada would pop a lot better post-COVID. What does your crystal ball see for next 12-24 months?
I feel like this is a double whammy: no dividend and no growth which is not a good look for any holding!
thanks.

Q: One of my basic investing tenets was to never buy an airline. But coming out of Covid, AC seemed like a can't-miss prospect (note to self - no such thing in investing!) Since the spring the stock is up about 23% and approaching my break even. This is not an equity that I want to hold for the long term so my question is: does one just continue to ride this momentum, albeit without a plan as to when to sell or just sell it now and be done with it?
I know you can't tell me when to sell but do you think there is still a lot of juice left in this stock?
Appreciate your insight.

Q: I have shares of Air Canada and would you rate this as a buy as wondering if I should buy more shares as I have a very small holding and thinking of increasing the %.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: I know you sold AC out of the 5i portfolio this year but I opted to wait for a bit.
It has now crawled back to my avg cost price and I do plan on selling. I know this is a 'timing' issue, but could you dust off your crystal ball and give an opinion based on any current information you're hearing, on whether to sell now or wait until after results are announced ?
Thank you.

Q: For an RESP with withdrawals starting this year, ending likely 10 to 11 years out for youngest child:
Largest holding is the ETF VUN (US) at 43% followed by BN and AC at around 12% each, then TOI, DOO , ATZ, SU, BAM in the 3-10% range each. Not included is the unfortunate loss of about 8% of the RESP due to failure of XBC.
So the focus remains on growth for the next 4-5 years to keep withdrawals mostly funded by growth.
Thoughts on keeping VUN as is? What about a higher-yielding ZWB in lieu of the individual stocks? Any concerns / risks that you know of for the stocks listed or maybe can offer some lower-risk substitutions?
Big thank you!

Q: I recently flew Air Canada from Toronto to NYC and Fort Lauderdale Florida and on both flights the planes were operating at pretty high capacity. The plane tickets were crazy expensive. Westjet has really contracted the places it flies and their frequency and AC seems to have practical monopoly on certain routes. I know that does not replace fundamental analysis but it means something.
Q: Switch AC for TFII? I want to keep the sector. I was thinking of first waiting for AC to bounce of its drop. What do you think? Thanks.
Q: What's your take on AC Q4 and year-end results? Thanks

Q: For long term growth I am considering trading my AC position in a TFSA account to add to my ATZ holding. Could I get your opinion please.
Q: I don't have any Air Canada in my TFSA but will be selling some CAE to make it a 2% weight. Would you use the cash from this sale to buy Air Canada since not yet owned?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Would you be a buyer of Air Canada at this time? I currently have a 1.5% weight and thinking of buying more to make it 2.3% weight.
Thanks
Thanks

Q: These 4 stocks, held in my TFSA, in roughly equal proportions, total approximately 5 % of my registered and cash portfolios. All are down except for EIF. My TFSA is where I put my riskier growth stocks ( EIF slipping in there somehow). Each has their own theme and while I am in no hurry to sell, I am looking for your opinion on them while I conduct my semi annual review. Your comment on their strengths/weaknesses, growth potential, ,management , buy hold sell ,would be appreciated. Derek
Q: thoughts on the quarter please?
Thx

Q: I have started travelling again and noticed that Air Canada flights are essentially full. I looked at a 3 year chart for the stock share price and it is down from about $50 to $18, obviously due to the pandemic. I noticed that you provided growth data in response to a question where the growth next year is expected to be 128%. This sounded good.
I used your symbol look-up tool to view the AC’s profile and compared it to Delta Airlines (DAL). AC has 359M shares out compared to DAL’s 641M. AC’s EPS and PB is -6.9 and 45.1 whereas DAL is +0.12 and 8.0. DAL is rebounded a bit more than AC but why was AC at $50/share anyway.
It seems to me AC is not managed well and probably has a lot of debt but your profile screen does not give me that info.
It seems DAL is much more attractive as an investment but I am just looking at very simple metrics. What are your thoughts, please?

Q: High growth stocks. A recent NP piece by Peter H. advised investors consider these vs. conservative picks coming out of a bear market. "Stocks that used to be 50X sales are now 3X sales and still growing at 50%+...a Bloomberg screen shows 982 companies with 50% sales growth in the next year."
Could you provide 10 Cdn. stocks in this category or better yet provide a link to the Bloomberg screen. Thanks.

Q: With free cash flow and/or sufficient ready liquid cash on hand and a healthy prospective new business list in the hopper, in which order would you liquidate. Obviously the weakest one being the 1st to go.

Q: If I was to sell Air Canada today for tax loss purposes what would you suggest replacing it with for a 30 day period (or longer)? Or perhaps I should just sit on the cash and buy it back after 30 days?
