Q: Hello, my question is regarding WEED, can you shed some light on Constellation brands investment and warrants it has that can potentially allow them to become over 50% owner and what affect that could have on the stock if they exercised them. Their most recent investment August 15th was at $48.60/share, when I see this stock drop below that price I feel as though I should buy it... would that large investment at that share price technically limit the downside of WEED? Do the warrants to purchase more shares limit the upside? Thanks for your guidance.
Q: my reading of the q results on CRH was fairly positive but stock is down. Can you comment, and would you add based on the release?
I hold a half position in Open Text and was wanting to bring this up to a full position depending on the Q release... what would you suggest here?
Q: Is there an advantage to buying these etf which are marketed as minimizing volatility if one is aiming for international diversification? On the Blackrock website they are stated to be low to medium risk. Would you buy the Canadian hedged or non hedged version?
Q: TD has forecast a 60% dividend cut. This seems a little draconian. Would you agree that there will be a near term dividend cut? And would you agree about the percentage of the cut?
Q: Hi 5i
I sold the above for a tax loss. 6 of the 8 are down since with FTS and ECN slightly up.
The 30 day period is almost up. How many of these would you consider buying back in the hopes that their share price will increase. I have a longer time horizon.
Thanks
Jeff
Q: I currently hold a position in Maxim Integrated. Based on recent performance I am thinking of switching my position with Xilinx. Xilinx has also outperformed my position in the BOTZ ETF. Do you think Xilinx is a strong buy ?
Q: Earnings 52 Week Low
Yield (%) Price % Diff
Badger Daylighting 6.7 22.37 15.90
CCL Industries 5.3 52.01 5.59
Methanex 8.7 62.30 28.27
I'm looking at buying one of the above companies. Based on today's stock price, I am torn between what is a more useful metric, Earning's Yield (MX) or 52 week low (CCL.B) or a combo approach (BAD) for an entry point. In your view which metric is more relevant for a 5 year investment horizon?
Q: Can you please comment on IIP's recent quarter? Also, in a previous answer, you mentioned that the Company's debt was increasing, but debt to GBV is 43.5% in the most recent quarter which seems reasonable. Do you agree?
FTG has had 2 good quarterly releases in a row now. Your last reply to a question re FTG (Oct 9) was just before they released Q3 numbers (Oct 10) (normally a quiet quarter).
Is there anything in their Q3 results to get excited about?
It looks like their transition activities for their last acquisition(s) is finally starting to contribute nicely.
Given the caveat that it is small cap, should one continue to watch this company (in this volatile market) or could one step in for a 1/3 position over the next 30-60 days (considering tax loss seasonality) given the lows of the stock price (down 38% YTD)?
There didn't seem to be much market reaction to the Q3 numbers but that could have been due to the market volatility ....or it simply went unnoticed.
Q: Good morning,
I sold the above in early October to capture tax loss, and can rebuy next week. Are there any among these 4 that you would pass on for now.?
Thanks for the hand holding.
Ted
Q: I purchased ECN.PR.C at $25 because it paid 6.25% and, as a rate reset in a rising interest rate environment, with a guaranteed 6.25% minimum(!), it sounded great.
It has gone down from day one and has little interest. Should I pick up a few more shares at $21 with a juicier dividend or let it go and look elsewhere? If it doesn't go up with increased rates, when will it?
Thanks.
