Q: Hi 5i,
I've been thinking about adding Telus to my RRIF for its dividend of over 7% and slow but hopefully steady growth over time. However, a service I subscribe to puts its Earnings Payout Ratio at 251% and its FCF Payout Ratio at 116%. And also says its debt-to-equity ratio is not healthy. Are these numbers accurate, and could I have your thoughts on buying T at today's price and holding 5 years? And could you also compare it to POW for the same 5 year hold.
Thanks 5I,
Peter

Q: Not that I'm complaining, but what is with Canadian bank stocks in the last six months? I'm used to slow, plodding stocks, and they are rivalling Google for momentum. All of them are up from 23%-38% in the last six months with no sign of a slowdown. It's not like we have a booming economy.

Q: You just published an excellent article by Michael Huynh on Canadian Companies that issue monthly dividends under certain criteria. Is there any chance you have the same criteria used on Canadian companies that issue quarterly dividends with the same criteria. With staggered investments I don't need to be that focused on monthly issuers.

Q: Please suggest a 12 position starter portfolio of quality Canadian stocks with an emphasis on dividend growth (~10%/yr), with broad sector diversification, for longterm/indefinite hold. Current dividend yield is less important. Thank you.

Q: I have a large position in Bns and thinking of selling 50% of it with a nice profit
In a question today regarding TRI and the banks you said the banks may not have a lot of upside left
Regarding Bns specifically, what would you say the upside left in it at current price $88
I would like to deploy the money in another stock for a 3 year hold -suggestions? Thanks

Q: Despite a proposed increase in Canada Gov defence spending, and an apparent boom in private jet craft sales, BBD.B remains generally neutral to analysts. Please may we have your assessment of this company and whether it is a hold or buy at this time ?

Q: In your answer to a recent question from Tim about how to prepare for an inevitable market correction, you suggested holding stocks in defensive areas of Consumer Staples, Utilities, and Healthcare, Can you pls provide 5-6 names in each of those areas that you would want to hold. A mix of Cdn and US would be great. Thank you for your excellent service.

Q: Hello....I am looking for ideally 1 or could be in combination with a second ETF. I would like to achieve a balanced mix with say 60% with a small or 0% of US stock market and about 10% private assets and 30% fixed income. Could you suggest 1/2 ETFs that would achieve something close to this percentage breakdown. Thank you.
