Q: I bought 2000 shares @$7.98 two years ago. With special dividend $7.50( $4.14 for ROC & $3.36 as dividend) My new ACB is $3.84. how much money I shall get from my brokerage firm:&15000 or $8260 which is shown on my account ?

Q: My unregistered investment account has a 50% core of VEQT and 5 equally weighted satellites; CEW, VGG, XSU, ZEO and ZQQ. I am considering overweighting CEW and ZEO. Do you think this is a good idea, would you use some of the other satellites or just stick with equal weighting. I would like to maximize the return without unduly increasing the risk. Thank you

Q: My son has $5k to put into his TFSA. He has CU, BCE, BEP.UN, WCP, ZWH, AC & BB as higher risk plays. For a 5 to 7 year conservative hold after which he will need funds for loan repayments etc (which is why his stock choices are mostly conservative), would you recommend more ZWH or a CAR.UN or... ?

I currently have an RESP for my two daughters. Questrade is charging us $50 every time we pull money out to pay for tuition, etc. That makes it four times a year.

We have used up the EAP portion so I'm thinking of pulling all the money out at once and transferring it to one of my daughter's TFSA account (there is room). the cost of totally divesting it is $100 but then we'll be mercifully done with the fees.

After that, I believe we can split it between the two daughters and take it out without any fees involved.

Do you see any problems with this strategy or can you suggest any better way of handling it?

Q: In my grandchildren RESP I have 25% in IWO, 25% in VIG 25% and 25% in VGRO. I would like to buy 2 stocks with the remaining cash(25%) which 2 stocks would you recommend. Money not needed for 14 years.

Your opinion. Will the European stock markets play catchup to the North American markets in 2022?

Q: Do you feel that CSE and NEO pose any kind of threat to TMX dominance both near term and more importantly long term? Increasingly I’m noticing more and more companies exclusively listed on either CSE or NEO especially ETFs. I ask because TMX seems to be range bound for quite some time now and was wondering if the growing presence of these new exchanges perhaps have investors concerned especially after the recent takeover of NEO by a larger American company with significant financial resources.

It’s been a while since a question on VIAC. Over the past week or so, I have seen several analysts turn positive on VIAC for 2022. It is viewed as cheap on a PE and PS basis. Analysts say it has a lot of content which is really undervalued by the market and that its streaming service has good potential. It does have a lot of debt.
