Q: I own Sun life but would like to add another growing insurer that pays a decent dividend. I am considering buying any one of the above or perhaps you would offer another better qualified company. Much thanks. Maureen

Q: Following up on Marios' question from Sep 19 which was:

"PHO is selling pretty hard on higher volume today and on a down trajectory since august. Lost 23 %.
What gives?",
I have the same question except a day later on Sep 20 it still gets pummeled but at yet much higher volume at 1.3 million volume vs a 50-day avg volume of 0.255 million. That stock has really taken a dive on "no news". Given no news, could you please educate me on possible explanations for this price movement with such relative hefty volume? Anything possibly nefarious here? Or is this just normal territory for a $2 stock (even though it's a "good" company). Thank you. I really appreciate your insights.

Q: I bought this co when it was trading 25% less than it is today. However a chart would tell you that it was way up there over the past year.
It is very profitable and I can see no problem with it, other than the u.s./china tariff issue. What is your opinion should I hold, fold or buy more.

Q: Interest rates (as reflected in the 10 year U.S. T-bond) are up again today.
Canadian term deposit rates are at the same time starting to make me feel all pink and fuzzy. Over the last while I've started to build a ladder of rate reset preferred shares (5 yr with a floor) mixed with term deposits of varying durations, and at the same time moving slowly out of common stocks except for special situations. Good idea or too short-sighted?

Q: I have just received shares and warrants for Australis Capital associated with a purchase of the latter firm by Aurora Cannabis. Australis Capital identifies and invests in the cannabis industry predominately in the United States, a highly regulated, fragmented, fast growing and evolving industry. Investments may include and are not limited to equity, debt or other securities of both public and private companies, financings in exchange for royalties or other distribution streams, and control stake acquisitions.

Can you offer an opinion on the security?

Q: With the yield over 10% the board must be considering a dividend cut, even if they can afford the current dividend. If the market gives the current dividend no respect cut it in half and the price will probably not move and they can use the money elsewhere. Where would you put the odds of a dividend cut?

Q: My daughter is 51 years old, and has just sold a rental property for a profit of 240,000. She does not have a pension, though her husband does. PHO has been a nice ride, TCL.A not so much so. Is this dead money ($3,500) for the next year?

Q: I am interested in the cyclicality of this sector, not necessarily seasonal issues, and curious as to the reasons for the pullback in these and I gather other US issues. Can you comment please and provide the names of four or five other major gaming companies. Is there an ETF which represents the sector? Thank you

I hold ACB. What is the fair value for the Australis shares and warrants I have just received? At one point today they were trading @ 15.00 and now at $3.00. Seems an opportunity lost to liquidate these at a high valuation? What would you advise at this point holding both the warrants and new shares of Australis. Pp

Q: Hi 5i team,

I've FSZ in my trading account. It has not been performing well for a while. I am thinking of switching FSZ to AD. I am looking for growth in share value and growth in dividend. Do you agree with this switch? I would not be having both FSZ and AD as my % of financial stock is high. Thanks.

I hold one ETF and a mix of equities (selected from your portfolios) in my TFSA, with the following weightings:
COV 5.48
CSU 6.70
GSY 5.42
KXS 4.93
PBH 4.26
PHO 4.50
SHOP 7.57
SIS 6.59
TOY 6.05
TSGI 5.63
VUN 30.35
WEED 12.51
Everything is up from initial purchase (many thanks) but some have grown much faster than others. I am considering rebalancing and/or adding a new position. Is there a notable position that you would add/remove (e.g, VUN in exchange for equities)? I have VXC and VCN in my RRSP so maybe VUN is better located in there.
