Q: Hi, based on the companies that you cover and also US if possible, which companies are likely to have a stable and steady growth in the next 5 - 10 years ? I mean, I would like to invest in companies that are fairly valued today and that can grow steadily in the next years, not extreme high growth companies. I aim companies that will give me a CAGR > 10% but with a medium risk.
Q: After the announced AMD takeover would you suggest selling now or hold on in a margin account? At what price point a sale would represent fair value? In general, i have not been able to figure out a selling price for any candidate that has been bought either for cash or a combination of stock and cash. How do you calculate that?

Q: Hi 5i team, I would like to clarify the 30 day rule on loss selling. Hypothetically, if I buy say 300 shares at $1 and sell 200 at $1.5 ( gain of $100)and at a much later date say 1 or 2 years sell 100 at $0.5 (loss of $50).Will the last sell at a loss counted as loss selling? Thanks.

Q: You knew it would happen but I wish it had been at a premium to the pre covid price and not the current price.... I've been a longtime holder and done OK, it has paid a solid div for me over the years and I was happy with the post BIP spike last year. I sold today at the premium over the offer as I agree with you that BIP doesn't need to sweeten anything with control. Unlikely in this market and that space that a white night will come in. So my question is what should I do with the cash? I dont hold any brookfield's so buying BIP is an option or do you have a better brookfield option. I am overweight financial already so doesn't need to be in the same sector. Overall well balanced so could be anything...balanced portfolio follower slowly shifting to income.
Q: Good morning, As a retired investor with ~ 50/50 asset mix and mainly quality dividend stocks in equities for income, I am thinking of investing in BAM for some growth potential. I like their infrastructure focus and relationships with big institutions, but but two things are giving me pause. One is BAM's investments (I think ~ 16% of NAV) in commercial real estate, and second, my stock tracker shows a Debt to Equity ratio of 5.17. Acknowledging interest rates are likely not a concern short/medium term, and risks exist with every stock, does 5i feel the commercial real estate and high debt mix should make a small investor look elsewhere, or would you recommend BAM? Your thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

Q: Can you explain the difference between Unilever NV (UN) and Unilever PLC (UL). Which stock would be better to purchase? Although they are based in the Netherlands and the UK respectively, if I purchase the stock in my TFSA will the dividend be subject to a withholding tax because I purchased it on a US exchange? What is your opinion of the company and if I was interested in it would you be OK jumping into a full position today or would you start with a smaller purchase?
Q: Will RBNK return and portfolio strategy will beat ZEB long term for a TFSA? Thank you!

Q: Hi,
I’ve held V shares since the IPO and have done really well. With all the talk about the shift to digital currencies/payments becoming a more dominant place in the global financial system, do you think also diversifying into BABA (stake in Ant Group) and PYPL (creating a larger transactional payment landscape for the future through bitcoin) would be a good move? Do you see further secular growth in this area? Thanks!

Q: I would interested in your view of holding this stock for the bond portion of a 60/40 portfolio, and whether there are other bonds I should consider instead.

Q: What would you suggest as good ways to invest in the cryptocurrency sector?
Q: this is preparing for 2021 in my TFSA...I recall early in 2020, you provided guidance about 5iR positions that would be good, my term, to hold in a TFSA......as I'm in my 70's, my TFSA is a mix of Balance (48%), Income (22%) plus "Yield" (5%), and Growth (25%) positions from the 3 5iR portfolios.....looking ahead to 2021, what are the 10 or so 5iR positions that you suggest I consider hold in my TFSA for appreciation and income?.........much thanks for the assistance......Tom
.ps...I know this early to be asking about 2021 but I'm "staying put", aka got plenty of time on my hands....hahaha
