Q: Hello Peter & Team,
ETY caught my attention because of the (NET after 1.07% MER) 7.26% yield.
Your thoughts on this ETF would be appreciated. It is a little tech heavy with its largest holding being APPL. Volatility appears to be minimum.
Thanks for all you do

Q: Looking to sell AQN in my non-registered USD account for tax loss. Looking for a good replacement Canadian dividend payer that pays dividends in USD.
Thanks
Rob
Thanks

Q: Tudor spun out some assets to Goldstorm, and I now own some Goldstorm shares, in addition to the Tudor shares. It seems the transaction simply took some of my cost base, and applied it as cost to the new shares. Am I reading this right? Basically, nothing has changed, right? Or will I need to record a capital transaction on Tudor?

Q: Mutal Fund RBF653: This fund is held in a tfsa- would it be wise to sell the units and use the funds to purchase a gic- the interest rates are pretty good right now and may go up also
Q: AQN was cut today from RBC top energy picks. Part of the reason is they feel the dividend will be cut because the payout ratio will exceed 100% in 2022 and 2023. In an earlier post you mentioned they have more than enough cash flow to cover their dividend (From that I concluded their payout ratio was well below 100%). Some financial writers have used earning when calculating the ratio, which is inaccurate, Is RBC doing the same? Find it hard to believe they would make that mistake. In your opinion is the ratio (at least for now) below 100%?
Q: What is your "impression" ..Canadian banks used to be a very "safe heaven" for dividend investors ,nevertheless more loans will be at significant risk with increased interest rates, and with upcoming renewals of mortgages in 2023.Will the big Canadian banks (and insurance Cies) see even more drops of their share prices ,and most important: could they become at risk of dividend cuts ? In other words,as a dividend investor should I keep financial stocks and ETF or sell according to the present tendency? Thanks J-Y
Q: Any thoughts about this ETF?
Fairly high MER, and any concerns being private pool may have issues crop up similiar to recent Blackstone issues?
Thanks

Q: What are your thoughts on this US Private Credit ETF (VPC)?
Q: Hi 5i Team- In a response to a caller on a recent BNN Market Call, the portfolio manager being interviewed stated that Baylin is in the process of a turn-around, has a record backlog of orders, is now profitable, and had heavy insider buying a year ago at $.80 per share. Could you comment on these points and if accurate would you consider this a long term buy, a possible trade opportunity or something to stay away from. Thanks.
Q: Thoughts on the guidance they released?
-
Apple Inc. (AAPL $224.90)
-
Alphabet Inc. (GOOG $200.62)
-
Shopify Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (SHOP $190.10)

Q: I currently have APPL at 1.47%, APPS at .37% and SHOP at .69% of my total portfolio. If I were to consolidate these three stocks into one, which would suggest?
Secondly, I know technically GOOG is classified as a communications stock. For the purposes of portfolio management, would you classify GOOG as 100% communications...or assign at least part of it to the tech sector? Thank you.

Q: Can you give any information about algorithm trading? I have heard that it makes up between 65-75% of all daily trading. It seems like BNN and others barely mention it. Do they think that it might scare investors to know how much control algos seem to have on the markets. Thanks for any enlightenment that you can give me as well as others
