Q: What are your thoughts on this company? I have a small position, have had reasonable growth and good dividends. What I have noted is the EPS are -.20/ share. Do I sell what I have since I am up or do I add to my position for more of the same (growth and dividends).
Thanks
Thanks
Q: This is a question asking for clarification on a question Bryan asked about clf on march 16.
He was concerned about preservation of capital. You seem to suggest that GIC's might bea good route as they would preserve capital. Please correct me if i am wrong but i was under the impression that if one holds a bond index fund such as this that one will likely get a return of capital as well, as new bonds at new prices will gradually be added. Is tis more or less right. And if it is, then it would probably be reasonal to stick with CLF, no
Thanks

Q: I have been researching Crius in great depth and I cannot find the cause of the price freefall. I am beginning to think there Crius might be impacted by the new Federal Energy Regulatory Commission guidelines on pipeline and electricity transmission line profits. Still, it seems a stretch the Commission would destroy an industry.

Q: Am considering an investment in commodities and wanted your opinion on this soybean ETF.
Q: Hi Peter,
LIQ is having another rough day. Are there any rumours or issues here or does it seem to be a matter of selling feeding selling ? If a 1/2 position is owned would you average down to a full position or hold off for now ?
Thanks.

Q: When the Tervita takeover was announced, analysts' estimates of the value offered to Newalta shareholders ranged from $1.55 to $2.50, with an average around $1.65 to $1.70. Since Tervita is currently private these might be quite inaccurate, but they are all investors have to go on until the detailed offer is published. The offer was such a welcome lifeline to Newalta that I expected it would bounce up a bit (it did) and then crawl steadily towards the $1.50 mark (it hasn't). I can't imagine Newalta shareholders will reject the offer, nor that the presumably many fewer Tervita shareholders will defeat the acquisition, so are Newalta shares temporarily worth buying for sale just before the close?
Q: I just read your answer about PEY - "The stock performance of course has been brutal. We no longer see it as a need to own name."
I also own TOU and SGY, with stock performance being brutal, too! Do you see continuing to owning these 2 names?.......Tom

Q: Hello Team,
What is your analysis on Meraglim (www.meralgim.com) as an investment?
If I wanted to place a tiny amount of my wealth in the Private Placement, do you know of an honest Accredited Investor I could contact?
Thank you, Team.

Q: Hi 5i Team,
Maxar Technologies is at a 52 weeks low. Have you changed your opinion on this company? Is it a buy, hold or sell? I know Maxar is a Canadian based company, but Its headquarter is located in the U.S. Does the dividend still qualifies for the dividend tax credit?
The service you provide is always much appreciated.

Q: Does MGA's potential acquisition of the Canadian Toys R Us stores, impact Spin Master's business at all, as it looks like they are a direct competitor of Spin Master?
Is there the potential for MGA to try and shut out or limit Spin Master's products in the potentially newly owned Canadian Toys R Us stores?
Thanks again.
John

Q: ALGN is currently about 4% of my portfolio. I would like to increase it to 6%, but it keeps going up and our dollar is going down. What to do?
Q: Reading the answers given to inquiries on ENB, would it not be prudent to counsel some patience until fact gathering step can be performed before attempting to respond? As more information comes available, it is becoming clear that the impact may not be that significant and that it may trigger a number of regulatory rate reviews that could diminish the impact of the announcement yesterday. It is also clear that only gas and not oil pipelines are at this time impacted. Seems to me that some value should be attached to the quality of management to cope with regulatory pronouncements in such instances. The quest by members for immediate opinions may not assist in making wise investment decisions.

Q: 2 part question. 1. Listening to Nutell and Schacter on BNN and they are continually talking about the next cycle in energy and how a lot of the Cdn. Energy stocks have been beaten up and now is the time to buy these things and hold them for 3 or 4 years for significant gains. Acknowledge these guys are talking up their own books but do you agree with the thesis and if so, do you view more upside in natural gas or oil? 2. If you agree with the thesis, what do you think of the suggested companies? Also thinking on investing in a basket of 5 rather than an individual stock to lessen the risk. Do u agree? Thx
Q: Good morning 5i
Missing from my notes is the reason for opening a position in crius energy. I thought it was on a positive comment or portfolio inclusion at 5i. But I can find neither direct reference.
Would you please remind me of the attractiveness of kwh ......recognizing this is not a fortis or Brookfield size/risk type company.
What is it that is not working and dragging the stock price down?
Thanks
Dave

Q: Can I have your opinion on this transportation company? It has had a good run and I am considering adding it to my portfolio for diversification.
Thanks.

Q: I use the SSO ETF for trading in my US investment account. The ProShares Ultra S&P 500 ETF provides 2x leveraged exposure to a market-cap-weighted index of 500 large- and mid-cap US companies selected by S&P. As a levered product, SSO is not a buy-and-hold ETF; it’s a short-term tactical instrument. The 500 underlying companies are some of the most well-known firms in the world. As a short-term instrument, the total cost of owning SSO is more dependent on liquidity than management costs. Fortunately, the fund is extremely liquid with hefty daily volume and very tight spreads. Ultimately, SSO’s liquidity makes it one of the best ETFs for leveraged exposure to the S&P 500.
What are some similar leveraged Canadian ETF's mirroring large and mid-cap CDN companies.
Thanks
