Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: My current portfolio is somewhat similar to your BE portfolio but with a small (15%) portion of foreign holdings (more if you consider BEP which I also hold, as foreign since it has a lot of foreign investments). Foreign is far too small in my estimation. I have some cash to deploy which would bring it up to about 30%.
I currently hold VEE, DXG and DXU, an awful lot of US. Do you have any suggestions of ETFs I could or should add? I have held ZDM in the past.

Q: Hi Gang,

What are your thoughts on the FED rate cut just in? Which sectors do you see this helping and hurting?

Thanks!

Q: I have $50k cash available for my non-registered account. Looking for 5 or 6 income stock suggestions to follow through the virus correction and that would be expected to rebound well. Would like yields of 5% or higher. Also do you have any sort of gut feeling on how far down this could go?

Q: Good Morning,
Can I please get your general comments in regards to the rate cut and central bank reaction to the "worst week for stocks since 2008" followed by the "best day for stocks since 2009" It seems these headlines have taken over the decision makers, and more QE/ lower rates because the market has fallen to now Dec 2019 levels- from all time highs! BIG DEAL! There will be no where left to lower rates and so much debt on the government balance sheet when things do truly get ugly. As a young investor am I the only one that feels we should let the free markets play out before the fed steps in, or is this necessary to avoid a recession. It would appear there is really no risk in buying equities since as soon as they start to go lower central banks will prop everything back up

Q: Hi 5i
I greatly appreciate and follow your US recommendations. My LIF has suffered serious losses and I wound like to build it back up with one of these US holdings or another you could suggest for a 2-3 year period. If all are suitable, please list in order of preference based on growth over risk.
Thanks
