Q: Hi Everyone at 5i!!
I bought some TSM just about the time Buffett bought his stocks in TSM. Unlike Buffett, I did not sell mine when he did, which was shortly after he bought them, citing geopolitical concerns. I find this a head scratcher. Why? To approve of an investment and then quickly disapprove, it seems someone at Berkshire was asleep at the wheel . This was rather sloppy of them. Just like the Fed, you don’t want to bet against Warren, but still, my inclination is to hold onto the stock since I am a long term investor. What are your thoughts on TSM?
Cheers,
Tamara

Q: Hi!
I just read piece about CIX in the Globe here: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-ci-financial-us-expansion-leave-canada/ .
It is a far from flattering description of CIX (says the CEO is overpaid, and the CEO overpaid for the US businesses, too much debt).
I have a couple of questions.
1) The article said that the CI will delist from the NYSE and be listed only on the TSE,
This seems like a bad development. What do you think?
2) Also, there is the talk about the IPO. Well, what does that exactly mean for share holders (ideally)? Would the IPO lead to a pop in CI's share price?
3) Would it end up being a dilutive transaction?
Maybe I am being pessimistic, but the outlook for CI seems...unprofitable...and I fear the worst (permanent loss of capital).

Q: Hello,
TRI recently announced an upcoming reverse split of their shares. This seems to to go against the usual practice of a reverse split whereby a low priced stock and out of favour stock (unlike TRI) will do one to drive up the price of their stock when it’s trading very low and in risk of being delisted as was the case of Bombardier recently and JDS Uniphase many years back. I’m having difficulty understanding why TRI would not just buy back shares via an NCI as opposed to a reverse split. Also, when is the reverse split scheduled and if I was to buy 10 shares tomorrow, how many of those shares would I have after the reverse split and would the price of TRI increase as a result of the reverse split as is normally the result of a reverse split. Many thanks for the amazing service that you provide.
