Q: 5i Team.
I would be interested in your comments and review of the proposed TSX IPO from Northern Genesis Acquisition (SPAC) to support the transaction with Embark. Specific questions I have include:
1) Does the financial transaction; including actual cash injection and share ownership by Northern Genesis of the merger line out to other SPAC deals?
2) Pros/cons of perhaps investing directly in Embark on NYSE with NGAB vs. the proposed TSE listing of NGCS?

Q: This question is about REAL...which is held in a TFSA....and is down 66% or 4,700 loonies as of this evening, Oct 25th As it is held in at TFSA,and not being able to claim a capital loss for tax purposes, I wondering what my options are?....and this stems from  REAL being recently sold from the 5iR Growth Portfolio What comes to mind is  #1..like sell now before the real tax loss season begins as it is likely to decline further #2..repurchase as the tax loss selling season ends or when it shows momentum #3...or just bit the bullet and move on Keen to get your take for my particular situation, even though you have moved on, or is there some other option, as I work to recover the loss, which I already know is not the best approach and something I don't do but as it is in the TFSA, I mentally just want to make up any loss on selling it by repurchasing it, crazy as it seems, eh?!.........Tom

In your answer to Arthur yesterday you mentioned that BEP was currently not profitable
-is this a new development and if so what caused it and when is turnaround likely ?
-I know you often clarify that cash flow is more important than accounting profits - do this apply in this case and if so how ?

Q: Thank you for your answer on my inquiry on these new leveraged ETF's HCAL and HDIV ..... Your answer showed HCAL beat both the covered call bank ETF and the bank ETF { albeit under the short one year time frame of the ETF's existence } ...... A while ago I asked 5I to crunch the numbers on all of the big five banks from the turn of the century to the date of the question and give the annual return { dividend plus capital gain } .... The answer I got was an annual return of 11% on the low end to 14% on the high end ..... Your answer to my question on HCAL included the following quote .... " But we would cautious on seeing them as 'safe'. In a bad market, or course, weaker returns will be worsened with leverage. " ...... It is my understanding that these securities are not structured like the 2X and 3X leveraged ones that rebalance daily to achieve the required return ...... My question is regarding your caution on safety ...... Can I not ignore the down turns in favour of the long term return of the banking sector while collecting a superior return ? Those historical 11% to 14% annual bank returns are averaged including the down turns .... It seems to me looking at the sector's long term history the security would offer the same safety as the banking sector with a superior return ..... Please advise if I am looking at this correctly ? I am considering the security to represent my weighting in the banking sector ...... I am delaying my purchase until I fully understand your remarks on " safety " ....... Thank you for your help .....

Q: Can you comment about Co-operatives Limited memorandum of understanding and what this means for near and future earnings.

Is this a big area that WCP can grow in the future? Carbon capture looks like a big opportunity as net zero goals are put in place for companies in the future.

Also do you have a some names for pure play for carbon capture company that you would recommend?
