Q: Hi 5i. Would you rate these companies as a buy right now? Any thoughts you have about long- and short-term prospects would be appreciated as well.
Q: Earlier this am you commented on SHOP earnings.
"SHOP reported EPS of 81 cents vs $1.13 expected. Sales were $1.12B vs $1.15B estimates. Gross merchandise value was $41.88B vs $43.43B estimated. It did, as expected, say the commerce market may be impacted by supply chain delays. But it also did say the full year outlook is consistent with prior February assumptions. This is the company's first 'miss' and the stock is down 5% in the pre-market. "
When I saw your comments I had a single malt (just kidding) prepping for a $100+ drop on top of the weakness the stock has had recently.
So at 1015 I mustered up enough courage to look at the stock and to my amazement it was up $80.
I thought i knew something about trading/investing but each day that passes humbles you more and more in this business doesn't it?
Sheldon

Q: Could you weigh in on your views of TDOCs Earnings today? They continue to have increasing net losses from stock compensation and amortization expense. But I would think those are temporary. Top line growth is solid and it's an industry leader in the space.
The share price valuation seems unreasonable. It continues to stay barely above pre-covid levels after making a huge acquisition and going through a pandemic with companies looking to add telehealth capabilities to their benefit plans.
What am I missing?
Thanks as always!

Q: If one has some massive winners (but no offsetting losers) in a non-registered account, do you think it makes any sense to sell such securities this year given the on and off talk about the federal government increasing the capital gains inclusion rate?
Q: Good Morning,
Two ?s here: I put in a buy on SU before markets opened with a limit 21 cents above yesterdays close. It didn't fill, and now the stock is up about $2.50.
How would you approach putting an order in prior to market opening on this sort of event?
And do you think there is more room to run on the share price based on the quarter, dividend increase and share by back news?
Thanks,
Tim

Q: I would like to exit my brokerage RRSP to a self directed RRSP and I am looking for 4 to 5 Canadian EFT's to provide balanced diversification across sectors, nations, Portfolio Analytics suggests 70 equities/30 fixed income. Other ideas you have to create a balanced diversified ETF RRSP would be appreciated.
Are there any strategies( eg time of year) to make the switch or just do it.
Thank you for your service.

Q: Could you please comment on Suncor's Q3 results and increased dividend. Do you see SU as a long term hold? I have a significant SU position in 2 margin accounts and can't decided at what speed I should be moving these investment dollars to green energy stocks that I would hold forever. Thanks for valuable information!
Q: Could you provide your thoughts on this company?
Q: I bought EGLX in Margin account on June 8 and my Registered account on June 23. Can I claim a loss if I sell in a margin account only or do I need to sell in both accounts to claim a loss?
Thanks for the great service

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.B)
Q: Hello 5i Team
In a taxable non-registered account denominated in US$ I hold Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-B) as a proxy for the US market in which no dividends are paid.
I would like to complement 20 % of the account value in US government bonds as a hedge against market corrections.
This account has a time horizon of greater than five years before any funds are withdrawn.
Which ETF (I used iShares as the ETF provider) would be most suitable for this account:
3-7 Year Treasury Bonds (IEI) duration = 4.66 years
7-10 Year Treasury Bonds (IEF) duration = 8.01 years
10-20 Year Treasury Bonds (TLH) duration = 14.89 years
20 Year Treasury Bonds (TLT) duration = 19 years
Or should I use a general US Treasury Bond ETF (GOVT) with a duration of 6.79 years.
If the same question is asked and US Government TIPS are utilized in place of US Government regular bonds which of the ETF below would be suitable:
0-5 Year TIPS (STIP) duration = 2.60 years
General TIPS ETF (TIP) duration =7.68 years
Thank you

Hello Chris,
Thank you for your email and valid comments. While we can't comment specifically on the stock price (that is for licensed professionals), we can tell you that the business plan is still very much on track and that over the past year we have been very focused on building a leading gaming, media and entertainment company. In that time, our key operating metrics have all improved, including improving gross margins, subscription growth and direct sales growth, In addition, the company is in a stronger financial position today than a year ago with more cash and less debt on its balance sheet. Finally, we have deployed capital on smart, accretive acquisitions that have strengthened our fan communities while supporting the operating metrics above.
We remain on track to achieve our business plans and have delivered consistent fundamental growth on all of our operating metrics.
Please feel free to reach out any time and we thank you for your ownership and support.

Or is the market thinking gold is overvalued at current levels….

Q: I have owned Corning for about 15 years. While I am generally pleased with the company and the stock performance, the shares have had a bad few months and a very bad day today. Do you know what accounts for today's drop and how do you view the shares for a long-term hold from here? Thank you!
Q: I received ARTG shares when Atlantic was sold. I've held onto them and they make up less than 0.2% of my portfolio. I'm debating on either getting rid of them or adding to the position. What are your thoughts in this regard? I have no other gold stocks.
Q: Hi, I am in need of increasing my Consumer Cyclical & Consumer Defensive exposures in my RRSP. Could you please suggest a few of your favourite companies.
