Q: Now that Biden had made it clear that he will cancel Keystone pipe line. What impact does this have on the above four companies? With this in mind how would rank these companies based on growth and safety of dividends?

Thank you

Q: Hello 5i Team
Canadian Utilities (CU) has announced a $0.0044 (1.010565 %) increase in the quarterly dividend, continuing CU 49 year dividend increase streak.

1 – Why do companies increase dividends by “oddball” amounts, in this particular case why would CU not increased the quarterly dividend from $0.4354 to $0.4400 (instead of $0.4398) which would increase the total annual dividends by approximately $218,000 on total annual dividends of $475M.

2 – Is this a sign the board increased the dividend a “token” amount to maintain their 49 year history of increased dividend and that CU is facing stagnant growth in their business (which is not surprising given the majority of their business is Alberta based)?

3 – CU increased their dividend by 1 % and ATCO (which holds 52.2 % of CU) increased their dividend by 3.1 %. Does this make ATCO a better investment, given ATCO’s other divisions (Structures & Logistics and Neltume Ports) are providing better growth, leading to a higher increasing dividend rate, although a lower overall yield?

Thank you

Q: I just moved my RRSP over to Questrade from PH&N and have lots of cash to deploy (5+ year time line). For tax efficiency, I want to hold REITs, bonds, interest investments, US div stocks/ETFs, royalty income funds or any other investments that are not tax efficient in my MARGIN, TFSA and CORP accounts.
(1) Industrial REITs: I have half positions in DIR, GRT - should I diversify and also take positions in WIR and SMU or focus on DIR and GRT?
(2) Other REITs: Can you recommend any other quality value REITs? Is it a good time to invest in residential REITs?
(3) Can you recommend a good high yield bond ETF that has performed as well as PH&N High Yield Bond?
(4) Can you recommend some good value US div stocks (preferred) or ETFs? I am considering ABBV, PG, VZ.
Many thanks for any/all suggestions/comments!!!

Q: Hi, could you please provide a list of your highest conviction Canadian growth stocks. Any sector will do but the stocks you feel most certain will deliver good growth in most market environments. Not necessarily looking to blow the lights out, steady growth will do. Thanks.

Q: I have a large sum of money to "hold" for about 3 months with the purpose of buying a property. I'll be paying about 3% interest on it and am wondering if there is a short term place to hold the money and earn a bit of interest to offset that but not have too much risk of losing principle. I could just put it in my banks savings account for the time being (at 0.1%...) but thought I would pose this question in case you had any better suggestions. Thanks very much.

Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! I am thinking of adding more dividend players to my tech heavy TFSA, just to start balancing things out a bit. I was thinking of adding Manulife and Atco...they seem cheaper, have some growth prospects and raise their dividends yearly ( though albeit, manulife ran into some problems a while back. ) Are my proposed additions decent selections? Cheers, Tamara

Q: Have been a long time member and so gratefully appreciate the opportunity to read your Q&A amid these isolated times. One of my joys in the day.
Please rank BAM.A; BEP.UN; SIS;T; SLF;BNS long term, all balanced sectors for a TFSA.
