Q: Hello,

We are retired investors and own all three names in the group, with CSU - 13.5%, LMN - 4% and TOI - 3.5% weights. SHOP is the only other Canadian Tech at 5.5%, in addition to US Large caps tech holdings at 7%. So Technology sector is >30% of our combined portfolios. There is enough income through dividends and pensions.

Despite trimming CSU by more than 50%, over past several years, its weight continues to grow. ( Great !! )

1. Do you consider > 30% Tech holdings reasonable as a sector allocation, TODAY, for an investor ( with moderate to high risk tolerance ). If not, in what order would you trim ?

2. Would you be comfortable with 20% of portfolio allocated to Constellation Software family, more specifically 13-15% to CSU and what would be your high watermark for its weight. ( We particularly like CSU for its steady Eddie profile and prospects of more spin offs)

Thank You

Q: Retired relying on DB pension. In small cap growth oriented TFSA holding PMZ now above ACB so it is on sell list. Dilemma: where to add the funds to above list of existing TFSA holdings? How would 5i rank existing holdings in terms of probability of highest growth in next 2 to 3 years?

Q: I hold all 3 companies and have been doing really well with CSU. The other 2 LMN and TOI have been a roller coaster, especially LMN. Luckily, both positions are very small in comparison to CSU (phew!!)
CSU - current price $4142 ish.
LMN - current price $33 ish
TOI - current price $130 ish.
Please recommend in which order you would add to, at today's prices (most preferred to least preferred). All are long term plays. Thank you very much.

Q: Hi,
After carefully curating the Q&A over a period of time and posting questions, I put together these companies as my own personal 5i Small cap fund!
As of today this is where I stand:

GSY negative 8%;
LMN negative 11%;

HPS.A Positive 1.5%;
PAY Positive 7%;
PRL Positive 1.5%
TOI Positive 5.3%.

On the whole in terms of raw numbers, it is still positive.

For the new monies, would you add to these positions or suggest another small cap equity.
IF you were to add to these existing positions, in which order would you add.
I am a patient guy and willing to wait for a while. I was with you holding Knight Therapeutics for a long time! (Negative)
Also with you in energy sector (Positive) So, I know how this goes.

Thanks for all your answers.

Q: Blake on September 7th ask about valuations for CSU, LMN and TOI. If you inherited $10,000 and had to invest it by Monday evening, how would you allocate or split the difference between these three stocks?!? The usual thinking ahead three to five years. Thank you for what looks like a fine service!

Q: I am a long term owner of AAPL and have done well by it. I am wondering if a switch into GOOG for its projected growth is a better long term holding in your opinion. How would you compare the two? Perhaps the obvious solution is to sell half of AAPL for a GOOG purchase. My other tech names include MSFT, CSU, SHOP, LMN, NVDA and VRT with tech making up 25% of my overall portfolio. Many thanks.

Q: I would like to set up a concentrated balanced portfolio of 6 Canadian value and 6 growth companies. I'm looking for the very best companies Canada has to offer, currently. I realize you have a balanced portfolio but I'm looking for the companies that are poised to do the best in the current ecomonic environment. As always, thanks for your much appreciated advice.

Q: I just finished contributing to a full position in HPS.A. I'm looking to start contributing to some of the smaller growth companies that your group recommends. I’m considering DRX, CLS, TVK, TOI and LMN. In what order would you recommend and what price to buy for the next 2-3 years.

Q: I have a 4% exposure to the materials sector, and roughly 23% exposure to technology. I have been considering initiating a position in Newmont Corporation, as I feel the precious metals sector will continue to show strength over the next few years, and my portfolio would likely benefit from the standpoint of improved diversification. I currently have a position of 2% in each of Lumine Group and Shopify. I like both of these companies, but my circumstances require me to part with one position in order to start another.

Would you consider a position in NGT to have better prospects than either LMN or SHOP, or would I be better off staying with what I have, and attempting to raise cash over the next several months to initiate a position in NGT?

Q: Looking to setup a very concentrated TFSA to drive long term capital gains. Currently holding the above names. TSU has not been nearly as exciting as the other names. Is TSU going to provide outsized capital gains? My thinking is to sell TSU and allocate the funds to the other names equally. If there are others names you would recommend pls do share.

Q: In the past few months we have purchased a 3% position in LMN at a cost of 33.73 per share. We are currently content to hold these shares indefinitely. Currently LMN's parent (CSU) has about 20 million shares outstanding while LMN has about 250 million shares. As a sometime sceptic, I wonder if the creation of LMN (and TOP) by CSU is a tool for CSU to raise capital? Appreciate any comments you may have on this. Much thanks.

Q: I learned of something that I had never heard of before when someone adked 5i's opinion of "the magnificiant Seven Companies" and learned they are American companies. Also was impredded with your answers of why they made the list of 7.

This leads me to ask what 5i's opinion of what would you say the Mannificiant Seven Canadian companies been in the last 7 years with the expectation that they will be still in busines 7 years from now?
