As you know, AMD is acquiring Xilinx whereby XLNX shareholders Will receive 1.7234 share of AMD for each share owned, equal to $143 in cash.
I have 100 shares of XLNX and have three questions for you.
1- Are these numbers fixed or would change based on the market at the time of closing of the deal?
2- Would you sell your XLNX shares or would you think they would be much worth more following the merger?
3- Would you add more now and if yes how would you avoid partial shares/odd lots following the merger.
I always wonder what I do without 5i knowledge and honesty....Thank you for your everyday work, everyone at 5i.
Q: Hi group i am still holding W - down 10% - finding it hard to justify keeping the stock . I expected the last quarterly results to drive up the price its now well of its high ( down approx. $100 US). It is still a hold or should I sell. (I own 70 shares Thanks for your thought's on this .
Q: If you could only buy 1 position, would it be TTD or U?
Alternatively, would your preference be to exit a position in Facebook and buy both of these as TTD and Facebook are both driven by online advertising?
Q: A lot of commentators are saying sectors other than technology should do well in what is seen as a bull market. Do you believe buying an industrial etf is a reasonable investment? I am underweight industrials. Thanks, Bill
Q: I was looking at the PLTR income statement... the TTM R&D is massive at $500M (which is great - build that moat), but the selling and admin expenses is $1.2B... that seems extremely high. Why is it so high and is that a worry? Or do you view that as a positive? Not really sure how to interpret those expenses in general.

Q: Good morning 5i,
I am wondering if you think it is still reasonable to be selling covered calls and puts on tech stocks? Are the work from home stocks going to be declining because of the announcement of vacine? If you thing that is still a profitable avenue what stocks might you suggest these days for this strategy. Thanks for your help and all the best on your new venture.
Q: I noticed you mentioned CTG (Computer Task Group Inc.) in a post earlier Friday as a growth consideration with reasonable risk. (At least, that's how I interpreted your ranking.)
Can you explain your reasoning?
This is the first mention of CTG here in over a year. It is not covered by any analysts as far as I can tell, trading volumes strike me as low, and the long-term trend has not been great. On the other hand, Directors have been meaningful buyers recently and the company's fundamentals show some decent value characteristics.
Q: Please list and rank up to 10 US stocks which you see as having the best potential for capital returns over the next 3-5 years. Also, please provide a risk rating for each, using a scale of 1-10 with 1 being low risk.
Thank you for your highly valued opinion which has proven to be excellent for my investment over the past several years.
Q: Stem Inc, an AI driven energy storage company, is going public via a merger with a Star Peak- a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). Any thoughts on STEM? What do you think about the STPK warrants?
Thanks
Q: I already own shares in all of these companies but I'm thinking of selling my MSFT due to a decent % held in also owned ETFs but also that I don't think it has as much growth in the next 1-2 years relative to the others. Thus I'm thinking of selling my MFST and putting the $ equally into the other three.
Am I correct in thinking there is more potential growth in U, NVDA and GOOG than in MSFT?
Q: If I was to look at a January 2023 Leaps on TSLA what would you recommend or look at? Or should I look at other dates? I now own a Model X and Y and Tesla is worlds ahead on automation, robotaxi and solar. I believe Cathie Wood is right on this one. I own the stock, but wanted to option too. Any thoughts?
my tech friends rarely pile into anything but they are all saying the technology developed by TWST is a game changer in the data storage, preservation, archival, retrieval, etc area with the potential to have huge impact on AI. YOur thoughts. it certainly has run up. Will the growth continue?
Q: If you had $75k US to deploy in a TFSA, what 5 US stocks would you consider given today's market & recent run up? Investor profile is Growth with a 5 year time horizon.
Thank you!
