Q: I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on this company? These sorts of positions are clearly long-term in nature, and carry significant risks associated with government regulation, but I have to believe that someday, this will be a real option. I just don't know if it is maybe too early to get into the game. Thanks in advance
Q: As we move into 2022 I find myself looking for long-term trends that I can believe in and consequently feel safe to invest in. It seems to me that:
1. FINTEC
2. Cyber security
3. Payments
are three such trends. I'm curious if you agree with my three choices and if you do could you suggest a couple of companies in each trend that would be your favourites. Finally, are there other viable long term trends that you think I have missed?
Could I get your opinion on the future growth prospects of EA? I have owned the stock for 2years in a non-reg account and I am questioning whether it is the best use of my capital compared to companies like SE in the gaming space. SE looks attractive at the current price point and I thinking to make the switch.
Q: For a 5 year hold, With the 23% drop in FB, is it better to sell at a loss in a registered account and buy stocks such as Roku, afrm, upst, Netflix, Shopify? These stocks are also down lately. Would you make the same decision for a 2 year hold?
Q: Hi,
We have a 1.7% position in FB. What’s your take on the earnings? After hours is showing a 20% drop. Were earnings and outlook really that bad? Is this anticipated drop a good opportunity to add?
Thanks,
Kerri
Q: Greetings 5i team.
May I have your updated views on MED please? When do they report next? What is expected? Opinion on current fundamentals as well.
Q: Looking to diversify geographically by adding US names. Do you see any reason NOT to use approx. 20% of my cash to buy USD tomorrow to buy US stocks?
Q: There has been some recent news indicating a positive outlook for Halozyme Therapeutics future earnings. Please provide 5i's perspective.
Thank you, Patrick
Q: I'm thinking about taking a position in Roku, my thinking is their nice cash balance should limit the downside risk.
However I pause when I see it's trading around 10x P/S from the data you provide.
You had mentioned earlier that 10x P/S is at the high end of the range for high growth tech.
Thanks Gord
Q: I have 1.4% in Docu in my US cash account with a 44% loss at this time. Should I bite the bullet and sell it to invest in another growth stock for a 3-5 year hold . If so can you suggest a few other than tech.
Thanks for what you do.
Q: Two quick questions. GOOG currently make up 6.4% of my total portfolio. Given recent developments, I'm inclined to let it run. At one point would you start to rebalance?
I also hold HD in a registered account and am up >95%. In a recent response to a question, you expressed a strong preference for RH over HD. I note that HD has a beta just over 1, while RH is 2.37. RH's significantly higher beta gives me pause. Given that I am a medium risk-taker, would you suggest I swap HD for RH? Thank you.
