Q: At first glance, the Q1 results for FTG appeared to be a beat. But the market seems to think otherwise although the trading volume is relatively low. As always, would appreciate your viewpoint.

Q: With the VIX above 30 and sure to continue to be volatile in the coming weeks, how would you advise investors to step into the current market? Can you provide a couple of examples of companies you would be buying into this volatility?

Q: Analysis of Firan earnings. Would you top a 2 percent position. Hitting new highs.

Q: Since your report on Firan Technology Group in early December, the move has been about 60% to the upside. Your report put the company on my radar, but I did not start a position. I am now considering jumping in and concerned about starting a position after such a big gain over then last few months. Do you see Firan continuing to outperform the market? Is this a longer term growth story that is still in the early innings? Is this increase in price being driven by defence-sector sentiment rather than Firan fundamentals? Any advice would be appreciated.

Q: Looking at adding to 2 areas - stocks that might benefit from increased defense spending in Canada, and stocks in the metals sector. How would you rate these stocks on a scale of 1 to 10 for a buy at this time? 10 being something you like a lot, 5 if you are indifferent, and 1 if you have zero interest in owning it. ARIS, CS, HBM, OGC, PAAS, SVM for metals and CGY, FTG, MDA, PNG for defense related.

Q: Hello 5i,
First of all, I wold like to thank you for the "Five from 5i" in general, but specifically the "Is Inflation Higher Than We Think" article - a great read!!
Secondly, pertaining to the article about the fee reductions for some Vanguard ETF's, I notice that VIG is there, but not VGG. Would VGG receive any benefit from the VIG fee reduction, given that it isn't specifically mentioned. (unless it was there, and I missed it - always a very real possibility....)
Thirdly, I am looking for some current recommendations for my grandchildrens' RESP's. Their ages are 5 - 7 yrs. old. One Family RESP holds BN (up 112+ %) and the other holds VGG (+73+ %). I went through the existing RESP questions, but given the current volatility and market uncertainty, I thought I would ask for your current favourites, given the foregoing. I certainly like many of the options given in previous questions, but I feel that the environment is slightly different now than it was several months ago.
