Q: With soft drink sales lagging at Pepsi and Coke, what’s taking them so long to jump on Celsius? With Celsius shooting up the way it has the past year, do you think much of a premium to today’s price would still be required for the deal to be made?

Q: I have read were some investors will sell half their holdings of a stock if it doubles. The theory I suppose is to take your own money off the table and let the excess run. I have two stocks now that have recently doubled - ZBC & WCP. I invested a full position in both of these stocks which for me is $10,000. Now both have a market value of over $20,000, but I believe both these stocks have a ways to run yet. Do you feel I should sell half of my position or let things go as they are for awhile? Do you believe in the theory about selling half a positions if a stock doubles? Is there merit in doing it? Thanks for your thouights.

Q: I saw the Q's on this stock today and was intrigued by the outsized (to me) performance of BIPC vs. BIP.UN on the upside and now on the downside. Am I to understand that the growth is exactly equivalent and the price differential is strictly on the dividend taxability? I have trouble understanding the institutional (I assume mostly) thinking on this. How many years would it take of dividend savings to account for the difference? Or is that a dumb question?

Q: I would like to buy US dollars with Canadian funds. One option is to use Norbert's Gambit, using DLR and DLR,U. To get the best out of this way, do I want to get the lowest price for DLR and then the highest price for DLR.U?
Also using this Gambit, do you know if there is a break even point rule of thumb where it is better to just do it with the brokerage firm, like iTrade?
Oh, is there an advantage to use Royal Bank stock on the TSX and then on the New York Exchange?

Q: Hi Team,

Like many I am trying to figure out what to do with cash on hand with interest rates near zero. I am trying to generate income while managing risk/volatility for this "low risk" part of my portfolio.

After some research I have come up with what may be three "best of breed" places to put some cash to work: REITs (e.g., RIT), preferred shares (e.g., HPR) and real return bonds (e.g., XRB).

What are your overall thoughts please on these securities at this time? Do you see any better alternatives in this market and interest rate cycle? What are the main downside risks you see for each security? Would you consider blue chip, high yield common shares more attractive or is there a diversification benefit here?

Q: Hello Folks:
You people have provided such great service to we investors, however I am increasingly frustrated attempting to search questions for a particular company. Each thread leads to another and another and and another and so on, with none paying attention to the company requested. As a result, the only way to check a particular company is to submit a question regarding each company which provides you more work and prevents clients from examining your answers to other's questions. This now convoluted system used to be so useful. There must be a better way than having these companies jumbled together providing no real answers.
My question is your view of Home Depot, Walmart and Costco as long term holds.

Q: Hi, I had a great 2020 investment wise, thanks, great advice.
In my TFSA I have STC- PLC - CCL.B that I will add to. I also have $room for two or three additional stock to compliment them for diversity, could you suggest sometime for a growth but also conservative investor.
Also would you be ok with a small amount(play money) for QBTC.U or would you stay clear?

Q: Happy New Year 5i team - I was reading about the iShares Global Green Bond ETF (BGRN on Nasdaq) in today's Globe. I would appreciate your thoughts on this fixed income fund. I have avoided bonds in my portfolio and have opted to hold cash in a high interest savings account for flexibility. I'm retired and am wondering whether this may be a good and relatively safe way to hold one to two years of living expenses, while at the same time generating some income. Thanks for all your good advice over the past several years.
