Q: Linamar, Magna, Methanex and many other cyclical stocks are near lows. So in order to buy low and sell high, would this be the time to buy these cyclical stocks? What generally is a cyclical cycle? I keep thinking of Warren Buffet: Buy when others are fearful and sell when others are greedy!

Q: Which of these PBH and QSR and LIN shows more promise of growth and return in near or intermediate term?
Q: Can you please give me your thoughts on earnings and growth.
Thanks for the great service.

Thanks for the great service.

Q: I have about 10K of NFI and I'm down about 20% on it (paid close to 12K). Thinking on selling half of my NFI (5K) and using proceeds to buy 5K of Linamar. To spread the risk and also hoping to leverage the potential upside in LNR. NFI pay a 5% dividend though which is attractive (I don't need the dividends yet but at least I get paid to wait). Your thoughts on this ? Stick with NFI or split it between NFI and LNR (I guess which has the better potential for capital appreciation ?).
BTW - Love the new portfolio tools...keep up the good work.

Q: Your thoughts on earnings and outlook please. Thank-you.
Q: Why has LNR under performed MG for the past year? Would you be buying LNR at these prices for an aggressive investor with 5 year time frame?
Q: You mentioned that last Friday Macquaria cut its recommendation on LNR on concerns about its power segment division. What are your thoughts ….. Do you have any similar concerns
Q: Two outsized moves to the downside that I don't see any news for. Your thoughts please. Thank-you.
Q: LNR has started acting better. Aside from portfolio weighting considerations, what are the main concerns here? I see a stock that is trading under book value and could move significantly whenever the sector becomes more compelling. Given a long time horizon do you think adding is warranted? Thank-you as always.

Q: I have capital gains in which I would like now to sell one stock in which I have a loss and can use against my capital gain. Of the stocks listed, LNR, MX, NFI, PBH, TOY would you sell? I do have the intention to buy after the 30 waiting day period.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Can you comment on their latest results. Aside from the miss on EPS , are they really that bad to warrant the reaction in the market ? Thanks, Joe
Q: So what do we do with Linamar. Do we hold it or sell? I had assumed with the agreement on trade between USA and Canada that the stock would be a good company to own. Not so it seems. Any idea why? Is it a concern that we are nearing the end of the automobile cycle and earnings will start to trend down? There is a thought that we are in the last inning for companies such as Magna and Linamar . Do you concur? Anyway the stock seems to be unloved, not sure why . Perhaps you can shed some light on this. How do you see earnings over the next 2 years?
Q: Even after today's move, Linamar trades at 6.2 times 2019 earnings. It's growing at around 8-10 percent per year, with a good balance sheet and proven management. It is very cyclical and a recession is likely on the way one of these years, but this valuation seems silly. Am I wrong?
