Q: Hi team, Has your outlook on Linamar shifted since the US election? Do you still see a medium or long term upside? I am about 35% down and concerned that it really might not come back. Thanks!

Q: Is Linamar a better buy than Magna today? Both companies did well for the quarter with LNR showing a better revenue growth over the last 4-6 quarters. The valuation is cheaper and while Magna is much larger, LNR is large on an absolute basis as well. Does npot the upside from here look better for Linamar?
Q: LNR is down quite a bit today after the quarterly release. Your opinion of the quarterly and the resultant price drop please. The results looked OK to me - what am I missing? Buying opportunity or?
Q: I have a question about 932
Hello 5i:
in response to a question on MG/LNR, in, I believe August, you said "MG has a solid balance sheet and a very cheap valuation. Recent earnings were solid and we would consider the sector fairly attractive right now overall." From everything I can read, it appears that LNR has a substantially lower valuation than MG. Am I missing something?
Can you elaborate on LNR, and discuss why you think MG has a lower valuation.
thanks
Paul L

Q: Linamar and Magna are both up about 3% today. Is there an explanation for this? I hold both and am not complaining. Joe

Linamar Corporation (LNR $77.12)
-
WSP Global Inc. (WSP $281.47)
-
Stantec Inc. (STN $149.87)

NFI Group Inc. (NFI $18.50)
-
Superior Plus Corp. (SPB $7.52)
-
Evertz Technologies Limited (ET $12.18)
-
ZCL Composites Inc. (ZCL $10.00)
Q: Do all above companies fall under Industrial? My total weight is 13% Is this too high? I feel that I have too many companies in this sector and may be better to have only 4-5? STN and WSP are similar so would it be better to sell one of these and add to the names that are listed. I am also thinking of selling ET and taking the proceeds to add to the other names now leaving me with 5. Is this a good approach?
Thanks

Q: Do the financials, notions of economies of scale and competition, street talk, etc lead you folks to believe that Magna may have any appetite to takeover/merge with Linamar?

Q: Hi, I am a value investor and note that Auto parts makers are trading at historically low multiples even though earnings growth appears intact. Can I have your favorite of MG, LNR and MRE with respect to the best 18 month to 3 year return.
Q: ave 5% in each corp and have losses of 25% and 35% respectively. I have been patient but wonder if I should sell one half of each and buy more ZZZ and KXS, in their place.
Thanks for your assistance..

Q: Another brutal day for Linamar on the markets. On 6/28 you advised it was looking "interesting". Does it look even more interesting today? I have a minor position taken about 90 days ago and I hate to catch a falling knife but my hands are already bloody...think its wise to expose even more skin?

Q: How would you rank these stocks based on expected total return on a 1-2 yr time horizon and why? Thanks.

Q: My question is about "peak auto". I have not yet read any reliable source that shows auto sales heading for a slump. In your experience, have you seen "cheap" large caps like Magna fall 40% based on a "guess" that was repeated enough times in the media to convince everyone, a guess that ended up being wrong? It's hard to believe all this selling is based only on a guess about a "top". I am not seeing XTC or LNR executives buy their stock. At 6.5 times earnings, you'd think they would buy if they their EPS was projected to be maintained over the next 3 quarters!
Q: Just wonder if there are any news that trigger LNR to fall another 4% today while the general market is rebounding, including other auto part companies. Were there any broker downgrades?
Q: You've mentioned MG as a good buying opportunity, do you feel similar about LNR? Does it also have Europe exposure?
thanks,
Paul

Q: Magna and Linamar are down $25,and $33 in one year. Are things that bad? Are they cheap now? Would you think it is time to start buying a 1 percent position in each since they are good companies anti have no idea where the bottom price is or do these prices look close to a bottom?

Q: Hi, why are the auto parts companies trading at what seem to be very cheap valuation? and which one would you prefer?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Given the pull back on these two do you consider this a decent entry point/ Which would be your preference? Would selling puts on either be a good strategy?
Q: Morning,
Auto parts companies in a bit of a tailspin. Any reason to close a long term position in Linamar? What do you expect from this stock over the next quarter, year?
Thanks!

Q: Hi,team thanks for all your great insight. I would like your views on Linamar and would you expect this company to benefit more than Magna from the low dollar.
Q: Hello 5i team,
There is a lot of talk about deep discounts inflating auto sales in North America, thus suggesting a peak in activity.
What is your take on this ? I hold a little LNR and a little MG (3% of portfolio) and was thinking of adding a little XTC (another 1%)
Thanks,
Antoine
