Q: Hi team,

Just happily renewed my 5i membership. Thanks for all that you guys do.

I'd like (and value) your opinion on the best portfolio-tracking websites, that also have intelligent and independent analysis (market and individual stocks), current stock news (not spam), and strong stock screening/filters etc. Would need to track both US and Canadian stocks of course. Was thinking Morningstar. Is it worth paying for their premium service ($325/3 years)? Any other sites I should be considering? I use Google Finance now and, other than the ability to download my portfolios and view all lists on one page, am not happy with the stock "news" they push. Lots of crap.

Q: When reviewing the 3 year SLF chart, what is it that has happened to SLF the past 2 years, starting around Dec 22 and ending Jan 12...substantial declines? Is it related to quarterly reporting?

If it is not just a coincidence, do you think it will occur again this year?

Q: Honeywell spun off ASIX to owners of their stock. I expanded my position to 1/3 and the stock has shown strength in recent weeks. i am debating whether to buy, sell or just continue to hold ASIX. Honeywell has been a good holding. Will ASIX perform well going ahead? Do you have any insight on the company?

My question is on a US stock. I've been holding Biogen BIIB for nearly two years and I'm down 32%. It does not look very promising under trump. I'm thinking of selling and moving the rest of the money in finacials like JPM or Bank of America. Could I get your insite. Thanks Maurice

Q: I keep reading that there has been a great rotation away from income/dividend stocks into growth though I dont see much evidence of it. My TD, RB and Telus are not down at all.

Can you explain this belief and if there are examples of beaten up dividend stocks, CDN or US, can you recommend a few for long term holds?

Q: Your response to Brian on Dec 15 included the following comment: "if you own 85% of your portfolio in high dividend stocks, then this is more of a concern".

I am a retired, conservative, dividend-income investor, with a pension, CPP, annuities, the above listed stocks and 3 income producing MFs (RBC Cdn Equity Income, Sentry Cdn Income, Sentry Global REIT).

I fit the 85% easily. I believe my portfolio is diversified by sector and by security. I also believe the securities have, for the most part, sustainable and growing dividends. I am a "buy-and-hold investor with reasonable tolerance for volatility.

Q: While I am not thinking of jumping into gold stocks (I have already been there and in many ways still doing it with too many pm equities.).
I would like to know to start a list of what your favorite gold stocks are in order of preference, that are generating free cash flo and are trading below the current gold price.

Q: your evaluation of the purchase of assets from Statoil- if positive should buy now or wait and see?

Q: I'm currently holding positions of about $1000 each in my 16 month old daughters RESP for SHOP, GUD, PBH, and TOY.

I'll have enough to purchase a couple new positions shortly. I was thinking about KXS, and SIS, but wanted input as to whether this is a good plan with regards to sector weighting etc.

Q: What is 5i's take on VRX?

Q: I already own Chartwell (csh.un) and like it as a stable company with a strong demographic play and nice dividend. With the recent pullback, would you suggest this is a good time to add to the position? Or should I wait for more of a pullback? In your opinion, is there a certain price in which this this company becomes a screaming buy?

Q: I hold Chartwell Retirement (CSH.UN) and have trimmed my holdings earlier this year due to overweight and the expected interest rate hike. My plan was to repurchase CSH.UN back to full weighting once the interest rate has been announced. With the US Fed announcement of a possible 3 interest rate hike in 2017, maybe I should defer this purchase until later on the year. Then again in Dec 2015, US Fed expected to raise interest rate hikes four times in 2016 but there was only one interest rate hike. Currently, the dividends are DRIP since dividend income is not required for many years. CSH.UN has increased its dividend twice since 2011. Therefore I wonder if the increase of interest rates will exceed the future potential dividend increases? What do you think of the plan to add to CSH.UN holdings or should I hold off since income is not required at this time and the DRIP over time will increase my holdings or is there another idea to consider? Thank you.
