Q: ABT's share price took a dive today before earnings is released after market closing and the results are not stellar. What is your take on what is being reported?
Q: Hi there
I see there is some questions still lingering on HGC. Notwithstanding your comments, your subscribers could have some interest in looking at this: http://www.visualcapitalist.com/chart-downfall-home-capital-group/
Also, On Patrick question, this my be of interest:
Q: WEED and HBM are significantly down. What do you have to say? Buy, sell, hold or stay away? I have good deal of investment on both, I can invest more to average if worth.
Q: Which etf would you consider for income, diversity, and some downside protection. I own several Cdn dividend stocks eg. TD,SLF,Mfc,ALA,Fts,Aqn,T,Bce,et al. Thank you.
Q: If a Canadian who has lived in the U.S. for the last 10 years moves back to Canada, and wants to start a TFSA, what would his contribution limit be.
Q: DSG (Descartes): FPE of 54, ROE low single digit, no dividend, EPS very small - seems very over valued to me. It looks like it has no debt.? I do not see an investment thesis here? Comments please. I usually do not buy companies that do not pay a dividend and grow it on a regular basis which to me shows confidence going forward. Looking for a diversifier. Own ABT, SIS & ZCL in small portions in TFSA.
Q: I appreciate your suggestion for a low monthly fee (or free) stock tracking program. I was satisfied with Yahoo Finance but the changes they made to their program last week make it no longer functional. I did my export my data from Yahoo to Google Finance but it is somewhat limiting.
Thank you for reply.
My weighting in bonds has decreased as my stocks (matching BE portfolio plus some US and international holdings) have increased. I was considering trimming some stock gains and adding some short-duration bonds. What do you think of the following two choices?
1. AT&T INC, 3.2 coupon (current Ask YTM is 2.77835%) maturing 3/1/2022
2. FORD MOTOR CREDIT CO LLC, 3.336 coupon (Ask YTM 2.71415%), maturing 3/18/2021
The goal I am trying to achieve with the bonds is preservation of capital with small returns as a bonus and reduction of portfolio standard deviation by adding low-correlation securities. Current total bond weighting is about 7.5% and I am 35 years old.
Q: I am looking at investing a small amount in one of those 2 gold stocks. What are your views on these 2 small companies? Which one
would you prefer for the long term. Tnx.
Q: I know you do not focus on US stocks but can you give me some reasons why in your view this high quality commercial REIT is declining for the past six months. Aside from the interest rate moving higher and the sector moving lower, I do not see any reason for the move lower.
Thank you
Jean
Q: The share price of MX has been kind of free falling of late since it released its Q1 results, which was not great but no that bad either. It did reported higher earnings and raised its dividends. Why would its share price be under so much pressure?
