Q: I own both BIPC and BEPC and have done very well thanks to your recommendations. You have indicated lately in some of your answers that BAM.A is very attractive at these prices. Is it too much Brookfield to take the profits in my two holdings and purchase BAM.A.

Q: I hold the above 7 stocks in my RRIF. I have to sell part of one of them soon.
Ignoring sector balance; I am concerned with maximizing long term growth whether it be capital gains, dividends or interest. So I would like to sell the one with the poorest prospects for gains over the next 2-3 years.
I should also note that my largest holding,NVDA, is over 7% of my entire investment holdings. This is a level where I would normally start to trim a bit but it has been on such a tear that I have been reluctant to trim it. And I note that you are still keen on it as a growth stock.
So I am comfortable to leave it alone if you agree.
Which would you suggest be sold?

I have a substantial amount of new cash to invest. It will represent approximately 38% of my portfolio once all invested. I only have room in my non registered accounts now as I have a RRIF and my TFSA (canadian and Us) are maxed out (except for the 6000 that we can add in January). I would like to use about half of this new money to start a US non registered account. I already have a 40% weight in US stocks (which will be a lot less once I add the new CASH.) I am in a low tax bracket presently as I am semi retired and have many write offs. WHAT DO I NEED TO BE AWARE OF with US stocks held in a US non registered account.? Or can you lead me some good articles please.

Q: Good evening to you all - Thanks to 5i, I loaded up on BPEC eighteen months ago and now have a utility bulge in my portfolio that needs trimming. I am only underweight in "energy" and herein lies my problem. Energy in Canada seems to mean non renewables like our wonderful SU, Canadian Natural Resources and TOU. Is not BEPC an energy company as well as a utility? If say half it's valuation is in production, then could that be construed as energy sector allocation for my purposes and I don't have to sell, just mentally reallocate? Or, is this just mental gymnastics on my part and I should just sell to reduce, pay my taxes ( i'm out of losses, hopefully forever), and invest the proceeds in a normal energy company to satisfy my portfolio analytics?

Re TFSA U.S. account - apparently if the security in this account has a dividend, it would be subject to 15% withholding tax if you sell. In Canada, the withholding tax is applied against your income tax when you do it up, but how does this withholding tax work in the U.S. if you are not doing U.S. income tax?

Q: 23 year-old slowly building out his TFSA. GSY (23%), KXS (19%) and LSPD (29%) now dominate weightings with PHO, PBH, REAL, BAM.A and CNR being between 5%-7% each. Going to trim GSY/KXS/LSPD back to 10% each and use the funds to purchase four new positions. Given this is a long-term hold could you suggest your favourite 5 or 6 (Canadian or US) growth stocks or those with potential to be the next SHOP in order of preference and why? Q: Good day. I have been holding BPY.UN for 2 years but see it going nowhere aside from having a nice dividend. I now stand -15% and a 3.2% position in my RSP. I am overweight Real Estate and need to increase weight in Technology/Consumer Non-Cycl. and Cycl. Can you suggest a few of your portfolio favourites that I could start positions with or should I hold on for awhile to see where BPY.UN goes. Please note that I use dividends as reinvestment/diversification tool and therefore although not necessary for growth they are quite useful.
