Q: What is your opinion of the ELD/FOM deal? Do you expect it to close and if so would you take advantage of the drop in ELD's price to initiate a position? Thanks...

Q: Hello,
Your Feb. 9 blog about finding quality stocks had a lot of Gold companies on the list with low P/E's, low debt, and 3 yrs of positive growth in earnings.
For a TFSA that has no Gold exposure currently, which of these small-cap & mid-caps has really good momentum now and is well positioned for more growth in the coming 2-3 years? And which has a solid portfolio of mines in production now?
Thanks for your guidance.

Q: Hi,
This question is more about the sector than individual companies. I inserted GLD/XGD/JGD in the stem b/c if I put GOLD, it takes me to a small cap gold co!
An answer by a well respected senior guest on BNN made me look up the prices of Gold companies in 2011 when spot gold hit 1900+ in 2011, Alamos was 20+, ELD 100+ (really?) CG 23+, and so on and so forth.
If anything, with low interest rates and USD in shakier position compared to 2011, these companies ought to be doing much better. Yet they are still a lot lower than their 2011 prices.
Any reason why?
Will they reach their 2011 highs again? If you think they will reach their 2011 prices, what would be your picks in that scenario?

Q: I had been using BTO as a stock to swing trade and sometimes day trade based on the swings in gold. I have done well with this strategy but after the most recent quarter have lost some confidence in this stock. I am looking for a replacement. Can you please recommend 2 gold stocks that meet my criteria: sufficient liquidity for me to easily move in and out of $80k positions, solid overall financial and production metrics and solid enough overall that if I need to hold the position for a few months I can be comfortable knowing I have a solid company. I have no current gold exposure.

Q: Hi,
Both these gold companies are having production and political issues.
Should I consolidate sell one to buy the other one, or do you have a couple of recommendations in the gold sector to replace them.
Thank you
Ed

Q: What are your thoughts on ELD.
Is there a chance of recovery or is it dead money?
or is Goldcorp a better option?

Q: Any thoughts about these companies? I know these are not in your favourite Gold stocks list. But from a bounce point of view, worth taking a risk?
Especially in view of "obscene" payment to the CEO of ELD which has drained investors'' money and confidence!! If it leads to changes in the company, is it possible to expect some bounce in the stock price?

Q: I have been following ELD, and researched the fundamentals. It seems to me that the debt is well covered, as indicated by the Current Ratio and Quick Ratio, among other indicators. Do you feel that ELD is in immanent danger, and that is why the price has been dropping so dramatically of late. If so, which indicators show that?
Thank you
Thank you
Q: What do you think of ELD with its recent negative news? Is there still potential for future growth? Do you think ELD is a good buy at this price range? Thanks
Q: Just picked up eldorado gold at $2.22. I realize this is not your favourite gold company but at this price do you feel this is a decent buy for a trade ?
Q: As a shareholder of Integra Gold - ICG- I am considering my options in regards to the recent takeover offer by Eldorado Gold - ELD- Can you give an informed and nuanced report on the merits of each option accounting for relative sizes, foreign exposure, future outlook etc.
Thank you
Thank you
