Q: Your comments on dfn doing a financing on class a shares at 8.75. Stock now trading in 8.45 range. A buy? What price would the shares stop paying a dividend? Ala dropping this last week. Would this be from cost overrun on pipeline in us that it owns part of? Expected earnings due Oct 30?

Q: Hello,
I am considering a new position in both of these Brookfield companies, with BAM going in an RSP (slower growth) and BEP in a TFSA (chance for more growth with this one). Makes sense?

Q: Hello 5i,
I have read through all the related q&a's and just wanted to ask this:
The conversion is slated for Jan. 1, 2020 and it seems likely to pass the shareholders vote in early December. Their press release mentions the change to a stock company will bring improved liquidity, more shareholders, more global investors (institutional) and it removes the limits on foreign ownership. These are all positives (sounds much like an IPO).
It seems fine to start a new position in it now, as opposed to waiting until after the transaction is completed. If it's going into a reg'd account, there's no tax issues with the conversion; and 1 unit now will equal 1 new share. So a fella can buy it now, correct?

Q: comments please on the CLS quarter out today? Thx
Q: In a June 28/19 answer to Jim 5I quotes a yield of 8.03 % yield on ERE.UN.... I'm assuming something changed between then and now as any source I can find shows 3.27 %... Could you explain what that was ? You also referred to a special dividend in April. What was that all about ? Thanks for your great work.
Q: Although the last quarter was not great Chesswood stock has since done well and now trading above $10r. Are you aware of anything that is supporting this?
Thanks John

Q: Just a short comment on the rails, having been employed at one for my career. These two companies may see volume drop off, but they also have the ability to reduce capex and headcount. In an environment of less traffic, their operating ratio gets easier to reduce. In my mind, very defensive stocks to hold
Q: what are the markets expecting from SIS this quarter? Thx
Q: I noticed Cara Operations has been buying shares of these units, they do look cheap right now with a nice div or payout. Has Cara always been a holder of these units and could they be doing a creeping takeover of them? What are your thoughts on the units as part of an income portfolio of 15 to 20 stocks?
thanks Tom
thanks Tom
Q: At around $7 it looks as tho FRU is heading for its IPO price almost 20 years ago, and PSK is not much better. the question seems to be - is this an indicator of future oil price and its value to the economy? Both these equities used to be considered relatively stable and possessing underlying value, current and future. Is this no longer true?
Q: SEDG keeps going up and I wonder if you can see anything specific that might explain it. There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm for this company but I've seen enthusiasm switch to disappointment pretty quick in the past. Any rumours of a buyout maybe? Sell before or after earnings?
