Q: Dear sirs,
Looking for your opinion on the Manulife Strategic Income fund, and if you feel its a good complement to PIMCO Monthly Income?
Thank you,
Brad

Q: Given the highly cyclical nature of these two stocks, is it time to move on. With car sales slowing in canada and the us, how long does it take to start impacting these two?

Q: COV seems to be in freefall, down about 50 percent from recent highs. Is there some issue with it or just the market. Are you still comfortable with this in the portfolio?

Q: I am under the impression that energy may be starting to rebound with the price of oil continuing to rise, and the outlook looking better for pricing. Gas prices are also getting very high in Canada. I have holdings in ENB, ENF, and BIR. Are than any others you would recommend, in Canada or the US, or perhaps an international energy etf, that might recover very well? I can pull some cash out of ENF to avoid being sector overweight.
Thanks

Q: HEO has pulled back to a new 52 week low. Last week there was news of "utility partners renewing and extending contracts". The price trend has been negative since then. Was there more expected from this contract, or is there something else weighing on the stock? I am considering adding to a small position.
Cheers,

Q: If Kinder Morgan Pipeline does not get built and our Canadian Cabinet does not step in to have it built what effect will this have on foreign investment coming to Canada. On BNN today it stated that Canadian Stock Market ranks 77th in the World performance. This is due to lack of interest in our Stock Market. Are we getting to a point where we are Closed for Business and we should be 100 % invested outside of Canada in USA, Europe and Emerging Markets until we regain our senses. RAK
Q: What are your thoughts on purchasing KMI?
Especially if you believe the pipeline will go through.
Any other insight is welcomed.
Thank you
Janice

Q: I hold this stock on the Canadian side of my portfolio in Canadian $
TD in their tax package has listed it as a US holding
When I bought originally ( on 5i recommendation in 2015? ) I thought it was a Canadian stock
Td has said because it's incorporated in US it's considered a foreign holding although the headquarters is in Canada
Is this correct? That it has to be listed on the T1135
Form ?
Appreciate your help

Q: I can emphasize with Paul in his question on fixed income guaranteed to fall. But,I was not too clear on your answer. You note that we should seek diversification and look over the long and not the short term, saying that the return for products such as xbb will show better if we look five years back. But, doesn't that just beg the question? We are looking five years out and we are thinking that things are not going to be like they were in the past. So, does this new reality not call for another strategy? I am aware that there aren't many alternative stratagies, other than holding more stocks. But, I don;t think looking to the past history helps us here.
thanks
thanks

Q: Hi 5i. FI = Fixed Income
My (6) FI holdings with rough total returns (including MER & dividends) for period held (average ~ 1.5 years): CBO -1.3%, CPD +15.0%, HFR +1.7%, XBB -2.2%, XHY+5.5%, LQD -0.6%.
NOTE: LQD not selectable, so picked HYG for question above.
Question: I understand the reasoning behind having the above FI holdings in my portfolio, but holding CBO & XBB seems like a sure way to lose money. So why not move CBO & XBB holdings to HFR (and possibly also XHY) which at least returns me ~ +1.7% pretty reliably? Your opinion on my FI mix would also be appreciated.
Thank you for continued solid wise advice.
