Q: Hi,
After A&W’s recent conversion into a Corporation do you feel they could be a candidate for a takeover? Is it possible that this conversion to a corporation, which would simplify the structure, was done make them more desirable to an acquiring company? Two obvious Canadian suitors may be QSR and Fairfax which owns many casual dining restaurants under its Recipe Unlimited division. Looking forward to your comments. Thanks.

Hamilton Gold Producer YIELD MAXIMIZER TM ETF (AMAX $27.55)
Q: Hello
Asked this question earlier but did not see a reply.
Just wondering if, in a rising gold price environment, would a covered call ETF benefit from increased call option premium income? And, if so, would this offset the increased risk of missing capital appreciation as a result of the underlying security being called away?

Q: What do you make of the pullback in IFC? Just part of a general market pullback, thus would look at this as a definite buy level in and around $280...or was there something post earnings that should be of concern?
Q: Hi 5 i Team - Although I still like Tourmaline I am considering trimming my position and using the proceeds to buy something else in the oil and gas sector but with more growth potential. First of all am I right in considering Tourmaline an income type of stock with little growth potential. Secondly could you provide a few O&G suggestions for growth, preferably mid cap and small cap but also large cap if you think it would fit into this theme. Thanks.

Q: How do you handle your portfolio if your concern is cash preservation for yourself rather than for any heirs and the time to recover from market falls is no longer there?
Q: Is there a book or online resources on how to manage your portfolio during retirement (or close to retirement) that you can recommend?
I have read a lot about long term investing, the economical cycles, and related weightings during wealth maximization stage when one has many years before retirement. I recently started asking myself about how that could change when a person approaches retirement and then actually retires. I still have many years before I retire but I would like to plan early.
Your advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Q: Hi 5i Team - The guest today on BNN Market call mentioned that Lumine specializes in carve-outs and that is to their advantage. Although he explained it, I'm not sure what carve-outs means and even if I have the correct term. Could you provide more information on this. In addition he felt that the evaluation is quite rich. Do you also feel this way. Also could you provide a summary of Lumine's fundamentals. and if you have any concerns with these fundamentals.
Thanks.
Thanks.
