Q: Hi Peter,

I have a question about Nvidia’s proposed $100 billion investment in OpenAI. From my understanding, the funds will be used to purchase Nvidia’s own GPUs. How should investors interpret this circular funding in terms of valuation integrity and long-term sustainability? Does it raise red flags about inflated revenue or distorted market signals? Considering the deep entanglement between Nvidia, OpenAI, and Microsoft, at what point does this trio resemble a functional monopoly in the AI ecosystem? If it walks and quacks like a duck, it is a duck! Is it time for regulators or competitors like Google and AMD to step in and balance the power? I doubt the government knows or will to do anything. I would love to hear your perspective.

Best,
Matt

Q: What do you think of AMD after the announcement of the new Nvidia/Intel partnership? If I understand correctly, it could it affect both AMD’s data center revenue and gaming revenue. My son, who is a gamer, still thinks AMD will do well in the gaming area. But with the US federal government taking a stake in Intel and now the partnership with Nvidia, it seems like AMD is being ganged up on on! Would you continue to hold or sell? Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i
With respect to previous response to michaels intel question july 31 , Does the Nvda announcement of taking $5B stake in the company change your view? Share price has responded quite positively today.
Would 5i be interested in intel now going forward.

In addition AMD seems to have responded negatively to this news...how do you see this affecting its SP going forward and would you continue to hold AMD?
thx

Q: I have owned MRVL since the early days of the tech growth story. I felt it would be one firm that could grow their business exponentially as the tech story evolved. That has not been the case.

I would appreciate your opinion on MRVL as a future growth story, or should it fail to hold up to scrutiny, what 2 firms would fit my involvement in the story (if any). I hold NVDA, AMD, CLS, ASML, MSFT and PWR as representative of the buildout of the AI/Datacenter environment.

Thanks, as always, for your comments.

Q: I recently sold Nvidia in my tfsa. I sold a call option on it and it was pretty close to the strike price, I let it get called away, since I am overweight Nvidia. Now that it is down I am tempted to buy it again. I can’t let myself forget the overweight aspect, though. Do you have another suggestion that I could replace it with? I want something nearly as good that I can sell options on, thus no or a small dividend. Sector doesn’t matter. I am also full weight on Shopify and Google. I am also open to smaller stocks that could show growth and are relatively safe—celestica and Nebius?
Thanks

Q: The dynamic of how business operates in the US has continued to change and there are now new creative
few structures being charged for international
business, most notably this week to American chip manufacturers for exporting to China. To what degree do you see potential for Canadian companies to be hamstrung for US operations in new creative ‘pay-to-play’ ways? It seems increasingly possible that anything is possible, especially where it doesn’t directly impact the US voter base.

Q: I reviewed the executive commentary for the most recent quarter of AMD and found it somewhat less than inspiring. Nevertheless the stock did OK. Was this just going along on an up market day or were there hidden gems that I missed
I look forward to your valuable insight.
Thanks

Q: A lead article in the NYT this morning stated that NVDA and AMD are expected to pay 15% of the money they take in from selling AI chips to China. It appears to be the price they must pay to do business with China. There is some concern about security issues. I would appreciate your take on this news,

Q: Hi,
I'd love to hear your thoughts on how you think CRWV will fair on next weeks earnings. A lot of analysts seem to have it on 'hold' and I'm not sure that's just due to earnings being close, or lack of confidence in the stock.
Many thanks for all you're insight!

Q: Well happy days for all chip companies. With the recent about face and being able to sell "lower" end chips again to the Chinese market how do you see this playing out for these 2 companies and others? With NVDA hitting a 4trillion value without being able to sell in this market where could their valuation go from here in your opinion?
What percentage of the Chinese market did they have prior to the embargo that has now been lifted?

Thanks

Q: I'm thinking that we are still in early innings of the AI / Data Centre / Power Consumption game. Assuming that to be true, I'm trying to figure out the best strategy to capitalize on this opportunity. So, what are the top 3 to 5 sectors & their companies you would curate in a portfolio to "win" this series over the long term and why? I would appreciate your valuable insight once again. Thank you.

Q: Good morning 5i
I would like your advice on a covered call options strategy. To date I have been selling covered call options on stocks I already own, such as Nvidia, Meta, Google, Shopify, etc. I sell mostly three week to monthly expiry dates. I usual tend to buy back and roll out if the market price surpasses my strike price. ( which I have been doing more frequently, recently).

All of these stocks have very high embedded capital gains and i wouldn’t want to pay the tax if called away. So far buying back and rolling out has worked well, though.

But, I am looking at other strategies, such as buying two or three good stocks, such as amd , palientir, etc specifically to sell call options. Here being called away is not a problem, as one would have little capital gains tax and , say in the case of amd, wouldn’t miss losing it, since I hold Nvidia.

Another possibility is to sell call options on a relatively volatile etf, such as QQQ.

I highly appreciate your advice, as I do in all investing questions
