Q: DFN traded over 600 thousand shares today and up 35 cents. It is not paying the 10 cents on the class a shares this month. Why would the stock go up and trade high volume?

Q: Regarding HSAV I would appreciate an explanation on what impact "premium to NAV or discount to NAV" should have on my decision on when to buy this ETF. It is currently showing "Premium/Discount to NAV" of 0.68. I would like to buy now but I am not sure if this is an ideal time.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Are these companies worth buying on their pullbacks? Realize that they are not in your North American coverage but aren't they borderline monopolies in the global semiconductor industry and perhaps a lower risk way to play the boom in AI? Thinking of the picks and shovel companies during the gold rush.
Q: VEEV sold off with the departure of their CFO. Do investors have reason for concern? More generally, do you still feel this is a high quality technology holding?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Q: Can you recommend any stocks that would benefit if China invaded Taiwan? I was thinking along the line of military, resources, submarine, sea technology stocks, etc. But if you know of any other ones that would be great too. Thanks.

Q: Hi team,
In your replies to questions you sometimes refer to "sleep at night stocks". Those above were so qualified, among others.
I would very much appreciate if you could provide a good list of such stocks at this point, both Canadian and U.S., in order of potential growth in 5 years or less, with a short comment summarizing your present view on each.
Please use as many credits as you see fit.
Gratefully,
Jacques IDS

Q: Hi Team,
What do you make of the AUM release yesterday? Seems like quite a drop - however - can you explain what exactly the "opportunistic" section entails? Is this meaning people withdrawling from their holdings?

Q: Do you prefer ATZ or CROX for consumer discretionary sector exposure?
Q: In deciding position weightings: when does it make sense to use “ Total Equity Portfolio Weight” vs. “Total Portfolio Weight”?
Thank you.

Q: I am trying to determine the economic dynamics of bitcoin, specifically mining. Today’s G&M article on bitcoin states that with the halving and its the resultant effect , and the cap of 21 million coins , the rewards for mining will become smaller eventually approaching zero. Am I correct in this ? If miners get no reward then someday they will cease to mine. What would replace this I wonder. Economics 101 would show that a cap on anything skews the economic model and creates opportunities. I know GLXY does much more than mining . Still trying to figure this whole thing out. Thanks. Derek
Q: What are analyst expectations for their earnings this week? Thanks.
Q: Could u make a comparison between hut 8 and glxy. Which is the superior investment?
Q: Hi, Canadian Bitcoin ETFs seem to lose traction against the new US ETFs.
You had many comments on Bitcoin (halving, etc ..) in the QA.
What about the fate of Etherum ETFs ? Different enough or same path ? Why ?
Merci, Denise

Q: I hold both Canadian and US self directed accounts with CIBC Investors Edge and want to accumulate US funds (dividends) in a cash (high interest) ETF but understand that there appears to be no US ETF similar to HSUV.U traded on US exchanges. My question is do we need to verbally request the brokerage to transfer (journal) US funds into our Canadian accounts without conversion in order to invest (purchase) same in HSUV.U and does this look like transfer fees are involved?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: How does CIBC make money by offering CRS on NEO exchange ?
Q: hello 5i:
Regarding the tax treatment of dividends from a US preferred share, held in a TFSA: would there be a 15% withholding tax on the dividend, or is it exempt because its in a TFSA?
Also: if there were a capital gain on the preferred held in the TFSA, would that be exempt from the 15% withholding tax?
thanks
Paul L

Q: AQN has fallen from grace for quite some time now.
The %Dividend Yield appears to be approx. 7.3%.
Do you see any potential catalysts/positives for this company?
Is there debt any better and can their cash flows support the high
dividend? Many thanks!
