Q: Hello, could you comment on SPN please? What's driven it's rise over the last year? Is it a buy and/or worth holding on to if owned? Thanks!

Q: Hi Guys
Morningstar has ENGH @ Forward P/E at 26x and P/S at 5.3 x
Would you think taking my position up from 1.5% to 3.0% a good idea? or would your choice be another stock instead, I invest in companies, not trade stock prices.
Thanks !

Q: Hi 5i Team - I am considering selling part of my Algonquin Power holding and diversifying into the same field. My first choice is either BAM, BEP or BEPC but I'm not sure which of the three to pick since they are all related. Could you assist me by providing a brief description of the differences between the three and your preference, if any. Also is there another company in the same space that you would recommend.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Q: In rising interest rates how will these gold stocks react? Is that bad for gold stocks.? Will they survive or time to exit?
Q: What do you think of buying some of this in a non registered account for the tax benefits you could receive.
If I buy at the current price ~ $24. before ex-dividend on Jan 18th I get a U$12.00 dividend (about C$15.57). Assume the stock drops down to $10. and I sell the stock I break even on cost, but I get a dividend tax credit and a capital loss on the sale of the stock. Both are a tax advantage.
If I buy in a registered account, it is more of a gamble with no tax benefits. Looking at their other business lines I can't see anything that would make me interested in holding after the sale of the bike business.
Looks like 3 or more insiders hold about 6mm shares. Nice dividend for them.
I realize you can't be tax experts, but I thought it was an interesting option.
Would like to hear your comments.
Thanks

Q: What do you think of Playmaker as a micro-cap investment?
Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Why do tech stocks get hammered due to projected interest rate increases because “investors compare those earnings to what they can get on other investments”
Do stocks in other sectors not face the same competitive investments ?
Does this not hold true for many companies on other sectors ?
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Hello 5i Team,
I have a mixed basket of ETFs across assets types (equity, bond, preferred, etc...) in my TFSA for income.
I was looking at the dividend growth over the past 5 years and noticed that many of the ETFs have had a negative growth. Namely, bond indexes (VAB,XHY, HYI, and ZEF) have trended downward as well as prefs, REITs and europe/emerging equities (CPD, XRE, and ZWE).
I was wondering why that is? Is it because of low interest rates over the years or rising debt levels(or something worse)?
Thank You,
Andrew

Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
Here is a simple question... because I do not want to make a mistake. I have just received my annual withdrawal amount which is due on April 30. If I withdraw this amount from my RRIF account and transfer it to my cash account now... will it be automatically withdrawn again on April 30? I do not want to make a payment twice. Thanks!
