Q: Are CIBC CDRs considered US property from a tax standpoint and thus a potential IRS reporting and tax liability? Thanks.
Q: What is your opinion on this US healthcare stock regarding valuation, prospects, and risk. It seems cheap but do you consider its concentration on drugs a potential pitfall if the US decides to reduce allowable charges for prescriptions. Would you buy CI or are UNH Elevance or Humana better equities to hold? Appreciate your views.

Does 5i have an analysis of Progressive"s latest result? I am not looking for a long term hold but considering a trade. Would that be wise and if so, what would be an entry point?

Q: Hoping you can give some info on the debt situation for Ala. I know they took on a lot of debt to accomplish the big US acquisition but how well, in your opinion, are they dealing with their debt. I’ve heard someone suggest that they may sell some assets as a debt reduction strategy as well. In short, is their debt a serious issue or is their cash flow sufficient to cover debt repayments, dividends, etc.?

Q: Hello,
I have accumulated two large positions in Royal Bank and Fortis inside my TFSA, with the intent of collecting the dividend income stream throughout retirement for 25 years and then cashing them out.
I find myself needing to sell one in order to raise some cash.
Which one would YOU sell? Or sell half of each?
Thanks,
Roman

Q: May I have your thoughts on PLD.
Q: I sent you a question on CMMC and right after that I started to read up on TKO which is a very similiar sized, low grade Canadian copper miner. The difference is TKO is on the way to a second copper mine in a Tier 1 mining jurisdiction (Still waiting for a final permit) while CMMC just sold off their chance to TKO still has debt although they seem to have most of the capital required to build the second mine. TKO also gets credit for having a lot of moly with their copper while CMMC has more silver and gold by products. Moly prices have gone up substantially but then again gold and silver having been doing well. For 2023 TKO has about 70 per cent of their production hedged at $3.75 (Collars??) so even if copper prices tank in 2023 (doubtful) they should cash flow at their BC mine whereas CMMC is struggling to cash flow in BC. So what do you prefer, CMMC, TKO or some other copper play? I vaguely remember moly $ to be very cyclical. I know moly is only a by-product of TKO's copper mining but if you can comment on that it would be appreciated.

Q: Hi All at 5i!
I am giving my portfolio a spring cleaning. I have Arkk, Apps and Unity software, all of which are down significantly. I do not need the money and can hold these for at least 5 years. Is there hope for any of them should the market start performing better or are there inherent problems with them and should I just let them go . Your opinion is highly valued. Cheers, Tamara

Q: Hi,
I trust that you are well.
I have the unflattering distinction of having been in the markets for at least twenty years and I have missed every fortune-making opportunity during that time. Examples: railways, Amazon, Google, Apple, cannabis, crypto (to a lesser extent), Microsoft, Berkshire, Canadian banks, telecoms, Shopify, CSU and anything else that had a great run (and continues to have a great run). You name it, I missed it.
It would be refreshing to bring this proto-Maple-Leafean losing streak to an end. So,
perhaps you could suggest some industries that are going to be big. Perhaps you could suggest some young Microsofts or the like living amongst us.
Also, would you comment on FLT.V? Do you this company is worth taking a flyer on?
Do you think the drone delivery industry is going to take off? I don't even need it to really take off. I just need there to be at least one gust of retail enthusiasm to keep industry valuations aloft for a bit.
I saw Mark Rober video about drone usage in an African country. He seems to think it is a very effective delivery method.
I am going to make an executive decision here, and ask all 5i staff to drop everything and dig deep into this industry and provide a report which: 1) estimates the likelihood of drone delivery being the next big thing 2) suggest some names to invest in.
Yours kindly,
David
