I have been mostly absent from the tech space for some time but do have small positions in TOI and GOOGL. I am looking at the cyber security ETF space or one or two stocks to consider adding. What would your recommendations be in this investment area
TIA
Q: In one of your recent answers you said, "the small mid cap tech and industry and pharma sectors in the US are the places to be". Could you please give some specific names that would fall in those categories? Thank you
Q: I am down on all of these by about 20%. If I sell them for a tax-loss harvest, what should I do for proxies? Also, since I have no capital gains for 2022, should I sell these stocks/ETFs in January to avoid a jump in stock price before the end of the year (as tax-loss harvesting season ends)?
Q: With the Horizon announcement that there are 2 (named) possible acquirers (by Jan.23/23), would you wait or, after the recent jump, take the money and run?
Q: After today's poor earnings call, is it time to move on from Marvell and perhaps re-visit sometime next year? Or hold on for better times - macro environment. This is held in a taxable account.
Q: Thanks for your useful answer. My info is that while legalization of pot in the US is not on the cards for the moment, a bill called the Safe Banking Act (in the US) is expected to pass in 2023 whose passage will allow institutional participation in the sector, which is something they cannot presently do, and a surge in purchases with significant associated price rises is anticipated as a result. This is some way out in front but the markets anticipate and I wondered how much of a hill Canopy for example had to climb, here or in the US.
Q: Hi,
As a follow up to your answer on what hit ADM stock today, do you see this as an over reaction to Biden's proposal, or would you expect to see the downward pressure on grain handlers continue? Any thoughts on whether or not the proposal would pass given the current political situation?
Thanks for being on top of this!
Q: I hold both companies for cybersecurity, both bought at higher valuations. Looking for direction going forward and over the long term. A 1.76% position in CRWD is at a 43% loss while a 0.86% position in S is at a 62% loss. Both are held in a margin account. Is it best to hold, sell or reduce?
Q: Hi,
I'm puzzled as to why ADM dropped 6% today and a quick search hasn't brought anything to light, so I'm wondering if you've any thoughts?
Thanks!
Q: Trane is a stock that had been mentioned here quite often but it has been a while since I have seen any questions about it. In recent months it has had something of a recovery after a surprisingly large drop.
Do you think its upwards momentum will be coming to an end? That is, what do you see as its prospects going forward from here?
When did it last report and what is your view of the numbers from that time? When does it next report and are there any expectations?
Q: What is the best ETF to obtain the highest possible exposure to MSFT. GOOG. AMZN. NTFX and what are the respective portfolio percentages for each company held in this ETF? thanks Richard
Q: Which chip company would these four things best describe:
- Huge drop in stock price this year
- Recent cost-cutting moves that will boost cash flow.
- Making good progress on the goal of making chips in the U.S.
- Highest dividend yield in years.
On the chip company AMD specifically, I understand you are high on this stock. Am I reading it correctly that the present PE is around 44? Is this valuation not concerning going forward into this uncertain economic environment (rising interest rates, sudden chip over-supply, etc.) ?
