Q: Good afternoon,
Very curious on your thoughts regarding Alaris' latest investment. Mostly preferreds at high rates, and some common. Sounds like a Berkshire-type of deal, with the preferreds playing such a large role. Seems out of the ordinary for them -- from my limited knowledge -- and does it de-risk the units somewhat, or add to the risk.
Thank you as always

Q: We have $50,000 we want to invest and leave alone for 3-5 years. We understand there is a good chance of a market correction, and unknown market volatility the next couple years. Would you suggest putting it into an ETF, and if so, can you give us 3 or 4 names to consider?
Or, a couple sectors, with company names, to purchase shares in. Thank you.

Q: I often hear of companies being bought out. My question is on ZDC. Being a rapidly growing company, who could possibly buy them out if so? and what would a buy out mean to shareholders, and what would profits look like considering past history of companies being acquired? Thank you

Q: 5i as well as other industry experts have identified Zedcor as having good potential for sustainable, long term double digit growth. I've recently visited Zedcor's website to have a look at the services they provide. While Zedcor has been growing revenue and earnings I am struggling to see where their technology and security services are different from other competitors. So my question is this: what is Zedcor's sustainable competitive advantage and are there barriers to entry into their marketplace or is it that this is just an unserved area for the kind of security services that Zedcor offers?

Q: It is my understanding that the budget move to more fully fund the Canadian military will require a massive spending push. What companies will benefit most? I expect for US based companies this would barely move the needle since their baseline US business will eclipse our spending? Are there Canadian companies that could sharply benefit? Also non-US companies if there is more appetite to avoid American during the tariff / trade tensions?

Thanks!

Q: Further to Stephen's posting about BIP USD dividend discrepancies Sep 11, 2025. We have noted similar issues with BIP, BAM and BIPC in our Questrade accounts. We have asked our broker to request Brookfield to pay our dividends directly in USD. This is possible according to Brookfield's websites.

Summarized below from : https://bip.brookfield.com/bipc/stock-dividends/dividend-history

Currency Option
The quarterly dividend payable on the Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation’s Class A shares are declared in U.S. dollars.

....

Canadian Beneficial Shareholders
Canadian beneficial shareholders whose shares are registered in the name of CDS or a name other than their own name (i.e., generally those holding their Class A shares with a Canadian brokerage), should contact their broker if they would like to receive the dividends in U.S. dollars.
