Q: I’m considering a pure play China ETF. Have no exposure to any eastern market in my portfolio.
As a #2 and potentially future #1 economy it makes a compelling long term investment.
Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you
Q: Can I please have your thoughts and analysis on Keysight's recently announced earnings. Any comments you have would be appreciated and do you see good things for this company going forward. Thank You.
Q: In the forums section there is a discussion on how much trading in a TFSA might cause the CRA to consider the activity as carrying on a business. I know you cannot get a straight answer from CRA but I'm curious if you guys have any knowledge of a DIY investor/trader (not a financial industry employee or someone holding a private corp in their TFSA) running into problems because they were trading excessively in their TFSA. The media has warned us what might happen or could happen but has it actually happened to anyone that you are aware of?
Q: I plan to contribute some money ($50K) into RRSP and split between CAD and USD stocks. The time horizon is around 5-10 years. But it is always good to see some short term gain. Can you please provide ~ 5 stocks each (currency) to invest?
Q: 2 of u favourities,DSG & KXS have a terrific run, with each hitting recent new highs. Is it time to take some profit. Q4 is said to be usually good for tech, but this time around there is a threat of a potential rate hike. While Powell re nomination is largely welcomed by the markets he is perceived to be more hawkish than Brainard, the other candidate,. As a result the tech sector in US & canada were hit hard today including DSG & KXSW.As well DJ only
gained 17 points after earlier gains of some 300 points..U valued opinion is appreciated.Txs for u usual great services & views.
Q: Do you have some suggestions for ETFs that have the following characteristics, with a very long-term hold in mind:
- do not include Canadian or US stocks
- could be focused on Europe or Latin America
- could be focused on Asia, preferably with little or (better yet) no exposure to Chinese stocks
- could be focused on other geographic areas you think have excellent potential
Q: In reflecting on the next direction to place some funds I looked at the performance of the Russel 2000 fund in your growth portfolio. Then looked at some alternatives in the Vanguard family of US based small cap and Russel ETFs. Going more mid or small cap seems appealing but where would your preference lies or is it in the current ETF you hold in the growth portfolio?
As follow-up to Grants Q of Nov 17, please go into more detail re: the substantial issuer bid LNF announced. It appears to put a floor on the downside through Dec 30th at 24.30 and caps the upside at 25.05. Is this correct? Are they doing this based on actual shares traded that we see, or do they intend to buy most of this through block transactions? The average daily traded shares do not appear to add up to the number they are trying to purchase.
Can you please commend on the recent drop in Twitter price per share. At these levels would you consider the current price as a good entry point. Thank you!
Q: Any comments on DR as it has been going down steadily over the last couple of weeks. I've been trying to sell into the previous strength. My intent is to exit this position and I am prepared to just proceed but if this current weakness is tax loss selling or a fund exiting their position I would be prepared to wait for the new year. I've got about a 25% loss on my position.
