Q: Thanks for your reply to Sheldon ‘s question on GLXY / Bitcoin . It has helped me understand the dynamics of this sector better than any other article I have read in the major publications. In fact, your responses to other Bitcoin questions have been most helpful. Derek
Q: Hi Everyone at 5i!!
What are your thoughts on Galaxy Digital? Their earnings report is coming out on Mar26th. Would you happen to know what the earnings potentials may be going forward?
Q: My question today on price points for buying and selling LMN in my TFSA is derived from my experience with the ups and downs of EGLX which I rode from $1.90 to $11.00 to $.90 at which point I dumped it. I have LMN in my TFSA and it will be a long term hold. I am looking at GLXY and don’t want to repeat the EGLX story. Like EGLX , GLXY is in a “ happening “ sector with
well thought of management, a Canadian small cap expected to list on the NASDAQ. You had EGLX in the growth portfolio; recommended it at $7.00 but then eventually sold it. You saw a reason to sell that I didn’t and I paid the price. What am I to look at specifically for GLXY so I don’t repeat the same mistake ? ( Maybe I should just stay away with stocks that have the letters LXY in their ticker ! )
Thanks. Derek
Q: Can you suggest some Canadian and US listed stocks and ETF's one might want consider to get a small exposure to BlockChain in a TFSA. Do any of these companies make any money? Do you think the ETF's are reasonable proxies for BitCoin but with less volatility?
Q: What are the leading blockchain ETFs or companies? I'm more interested in focusing on the blockchain technology and blockchain applications used by numerous industries (financial, shipping, government, etc.) rather than focusing on any specific cryptocurrency like Bitcoin. Thanks.
Q: I've owned GLXY for a while. The last time Bitcoin was at the $50K level, GLXY was significantly higher (roughly $26-27). Any reasons why there is such a difference in the performance given where bitcoin is today? Given the halving is occuring in April, which is typically positive for the price of bitcoin, I would have expected a higher SP. Perhaps there's a catchup trade in the future?
Q: My only 2 TFSA holdings, held in equal amounts are WELL ( down) and EIF ( up ). I like EIF and hold it in greater amounts in my non registered account where I intend to keep it but expect it will be dead money for at least 6 months while Northern Mat recovers.
Am looking at selling EIF and along with my $7,000 contribution buying CALF , GLXY, and LMN in equal amounts, leaving WELL the largest holding at approximately 40% weighting ; the others at 20 % each. My TFSA is approximately 4 % of my total non registered and RRIF accounts and is not considered material so I wish to rebalance it towards stocks with more growth ( and risk ) potential.
I tend to go crazy with market timing : any advice on how to proceed on the sale and purchase of these? Any potential “ flashing red lights “ with this move ? Thanks. Derek
Q: I am thinking of dumping Lightspeed in favour of Galaxy, for a bit more punch in the 2024 portfolio. Your thoughts, please. I've held on for so long with LSPD, but my patience is ebbing, and wondering if I'm just hanging on for "sentimental" reasons, and not for good financial sense. Thanks, as always!
Q: I hold approximate 5% of my portfolio in Crypto stocks (ETF's and Mining companies). With the SEC's approval of ETF's should I consider selling a few of the above and purchasing one of these new ETF's and if so, which one would you recommend. Thanks
Q: I was expecting the bircoin etf news to have a positive result to the share price. Market is not re-acting positively. Can I have your thoughts.
Thanks
John
Q: Would you kindly pick 4 stocks (at least 1 of which is a Canadian stock) that you believe could increase in value by 1000% over the next 10 years. Each must have a current market cap of at least $750M. Please provide a short reason for selecting each stock. Thank you.
Q: Looking to add 2-3 names of the above small caps to my TFSA this month. With the exception, of LMN and GLXY all are down substantially. Question. Which have the biggest up side in 2024, for a long term hold. Please rate them 1-8 with short comments for growth and safety,
Q: I have partial psitions in these Financial stocks. Would you add to the Financial sector at this stage? I have full positions in large Canadian banks. Which from my list or any others that you like would you be comfortable adding to full positions. Please rank those that you would be comfortable adding to full positiond today and target buy prices for any others that you still like.
Happy New Year and thanks.
.
Q: Trying to decide which of the two would have better long term upside. If one could only chose one of these for a 10 year hold, what would it be and why?
