Q: Good Morning,

Just curious to what Telus payout ratio is for the dividend. a friend of mine read an article where it said Telus is paying out way more than they are earning. Can you comment on the safety of the dividend? I know they just recently raised it.

Q: Hi Peter and team,
I currently hold Transcontinental and could increase my position to a larger holding. Alternatively, thinking about selling for small loss (not crucial to do so) and switch to TFII (the sell off price is tempting).
I am low on industrials and could easily add another full position. I own Brookfield infrastructure at full position.

Do you think TCL will remain stable with relatively safe dividend? switch to TFI or add to TCL instead.
Focus is more on income, so also considering addition of EIF as I am low on industrials. I like the high dividend.
Would appreciate your comments/suggestions.

Q: you answered a question on mrs today. I recall this name as you brought it to members attention probably a couple of years ago. you seemed to rate it as an excellent speculative buy with good growth potential. based on what you mentioned today about the company, I don't understand why it was mentioned in the first place. it seems like a poor company with poor metrics. do you regret hi-liting the name. would you rate it a sell today.

Q: Hi, I am intrigued to watch the precipitous price decline of Topicus stock, over past several weeks. True, most high multiple Technology shares have come under tremendous selling pressure, recently. But, a general understanding had been that TOI stock is mini Constellation , of sort, with higher growth potential, but similar business model and management approach. While CSU share price has been fairly resilient during the Tech sector decline, TOI, with 55% decline from its peak, has not displayed similar attributes. Is it the current geopolitical uncertainties in Europe, which has caused this or you see some inherent issues with the company ? With $67, share price has gone in full circle back to the initial days when stock just started trading. Thank You

Q: Hi, Within less than 9 months these stocks have lost between 55 % to 90% of their value. LSPD took the hardest hit, with TOI, the least in this group. All these companies have been market darlings since their IPO's and still continue to be 5i favourites. We own all these names across all family accounts. Based on your recent comments, these stocks also have very high potential of a strong bounce back, once market sentiment towards Technology sector improves. Question: If these companies continue to execute against their respective business models, and Tech/Growth stocks slowly regain favour with investors - Based on some multiple expansion, what would be a reasonable price range expectation over 3-5 years time frame for each stock and how would you rate them, in order, as best placed or likelihood of accomplishing this. Thank You

Q: If permitted to ask something personnel... When responding to questions for US securities, we see that you or your partners or 5i own a number of US stocks. What kind of strategy (i.e. buy/hold, sell, increasing positions, ...) are you mainly employing for your own investments during this turmoil? "Our Asset Management Business Will be Listed and 25% Distributed to Shareholders
In our year-end letter, we mentioned that we were considering publicly listing a partial interest in our asset management organization. We have been very encouraged by the feedback we received from shareholders and concluded that publicly listing a 25% interest in our asset management business will be overwhelmingly positive. We expect that these shares can be distributed to shareholders before year end. The special distribution of shares of the Manager, based on our estimate of Value1, will be around $20 billion or approximately $12.00 for each share of Brookfield you own at that time. The distribution will be executed on a tax-free basis to Canadian and U.S. shareholders and we are working through the taxation in other jurisdictions."

Am I correct in my assumption that I will receive 1 share in the spinoff company for each Bam I currently own and my BAM shares will drop in value by the dollar amount attributed to the spin off company

Q: Hi Team;
Can I get your take on earnings for TTD, U, RBLX? They are all falling after hours, especially Unity. Is the long term story still in place for these names? Also what are the chances of someone like FB buying out RBLX or Unity? Or..have the US regulators made it pretty much impossible for them to buy anything remotely close to being portrayed as a "monopoly" anymore? With the massive selloffs I kind of am expecting buyouts to start happening all over the place.

Also...speculative question/ rant. This last while one of the only sectors that has been working is the oil sector. Technology has been decimated...with many best in breed names falling to as much as being worth 1/10th of the value they were at a year ago. Yet...all the media has pumped to us the last few years is that "carbon is dead", "green energy is a must". And Looking around our world today all I see is technology advancing more by the day. Last year the media would portray the view that we are in early innings of a "technology revolution" ...with major advancements happening over the next couple decades. Which..with this view is why I positioned my portfolio as such. And now its been cut in half in the last year. For a 10yr plus horizon; would you agree that technology names will recover, and surpass the overall market? And would you see the technology sector the most likely to have the strongest long term growth for the next 10,20 yrs? Or am I wrong in my long term thinking here and are we going back to nothing but pro-oil and bank names? Were technology names priced last year similar to the 2000.com bubble or is there a disconnect now? Speculative question I know. I can see with moves we are seeing in the market today, how investors get "jaded" from investing and pull out of the markets for years, or sometimes for a lifetime. It's frustrating for the average investor.
