Q: Hi 5i Team - If a company is listed on both the U.S. and Canadian exchanges, do you have an opinion on which would be the better choice, I realize that this may be a bit of a complex question with a number of variables to consider so if you could address just a couple of those variables that would be great.
As a corollary do U.S. dividends need to claimed in RRSP's and TFSA's.

Q: Hello,

I wanted to discuss Pfizer, a company with a dividend yield of 6%. Its yield and growth prospects appear more appealing than those of many other dividend stocks, including those in the telecommunication and utility sectors.

My question is: What is your opinion on purchasing Pfizer as a dividend stock for my RRSP and waiting for its recovery? Do you anticipate that it will regain market momentum either this year or sometime next year?

Q: Long term dividend growth investor recently retired. Thinking about reducing my position in TD. While the dividend growth has been good, the stock price and earning have not. The consensus earning forecast doesn't look good either. As far as I can tell, the only reason for hope is that the CEO's unofficial 10 yr term is coming to an end. Some say that it will get better once the money laundering matter is behind them, but I'm not so sure. The problem seems to be earnings or lack of them.

Can I get your outlook for TD?

Q: Alaris reports on March 13. I already have a mostly full position (relative to it's market cap and risk level....ie; not a full position like some of the blue chips I own, like BCE, BNS, FTS, RY, TRP, etc.), but am considering adding a bit more at this level. Good USA small cap exposure with a great dividend and good upside potential (at least I think so).

Add before they report or after? Ya I know....don't add based on one quarterly report. Your current thoughts on Alaris please.

Q: Good morning, Gold hit an all time high today and its up all day. But the GDX, AEM, and ABX went the other way into negative territory. How is this possible , can you please explain?? In August of 2020 when gold hit $2060 for a brief moment , GDX, AEM, and GOLD hit all time highs and today they are 40-50 % lower .

Q: It will be added to the S&P500 Index on March 18th 2024. For funds and ETF that purchase stocks in the S&P500 do they have to wait until March 18th to buy or can they start now based on the upcoming addition? Also the daily volume for SMIC was ~11.5M on March 8th, what factors will that have when it is added will there be a need for more shares etc? Finally, the recent 5i US webinar there was mention of on-shoring of chip production into the US, will this be a tailwind for SMCI vs NVDA who does most of their manufacturing overseas?

Q: Hi, so, I know I can find out about insider trades on 5i or SEDI. But are there other resources to tell you if certain non insiders are buying big chunks of stock?
The last few days there has been quite a bit of buying on Sangoma, on very little news that I can see. It's great as the price is up quite a bit, but I'm intrigued to learn more but don't know where to look.
I suppose that may be the point though!
If nothing there, any thoughts on why sangoma is moving so much these days?

Q: Is this a good long term hold ? I am watching stocks like NVDA and SMCI appreciate while this LTBH stock moves like a snail. Would it be worth it to sell BN and put it into the AI sector or is this still likely going to be a buy and hold forever stock like so many say it is?

Q: My question concerns the significance in a stock’s price bid & ask price difference. Today LMN’s bid ask difference is .15 cents while BCE’s is .01 cents. Question 1 is why do stocks have varying bid ask differences. Question 2 is it better to buy stocks with small bid ask differences. And question 3 does a third party prosper if a stock has a large bib ask difference. Thanks … Cal
