Q: Watched Jeffery Gundlach being interviewed by Daniel Martino Booth, his credentials are very impressive, I have always liked to listen to his view of the Worlds Financial System.
According to him the Fed will take drastic measures in Drastic times. example being they have already done so by violating the Federal Reserve Act, with their purchases of Corporate Bonds, Stock purchases will probably come next.
I was confused by his biggest fear that the FED might declare their Liabilities as " Legal Tender"...... could you explain what he means by that Statement. I assumed that their Liabilities where already Legal Tender in the fact that their liabilities are backed by the Tax Payers of America, or did he simply mean he is fearful of the Fed just printing 7 trillion and wiping away all the debt.

Q: I am considering setting up a 2 etf portfolio for my elderly parents, the plan includes a 60 bond/40 equity etf in a non registered account and was thinking a 50/50 in the TFSA, I realize that is a perhaps alot of eequity exposure but they have more than enough income to live off and will likely never acess these funds. Thoughts on the plan and ETF ideas please. The combined portfolios would be in the $500000 range so I have to be mindful of foreign ownership rules, any other rules I should watch for?

Q: Hi,
Would it change your opinion on this company knowing they've aquired OpenNMS recently? Or does this acquisition just mire them in too much debt? I ask because I've noticed a technical improvement in their relative strength vs DJUS software index and the S&P 500. Thanks for all your hard work on our behalf!

1. I currently own TGZ and looking to add another small/mid cap gold play. I've zeroed in on EQX and WDO. Which do you prefer or is there another name you prefer.
2. WELL or DOC.....which do you prefer and why?

Q: I have positions in several ETFs trading on the TSE. I like to keep up to date on major holding changes and weightings within each ETF. Is there a good (one stop shop) source of updated information, other than going on to the separate ETF company websites?

Q: Hi Team,
On a Corporate account, where capital gain is the main goal for long term hold.
Consumer Staple holdings are ATD.b 6 % PF & 15% gain & MRU 1.8% PF, 8.5% gain.
Your thought on MRU, (hold or sell) ?
Want to add 2.5% one another Cons Staple stock Ca or US. You suggestion please.

Q: Hi 5i team,
I own MSFT and am following a potential TikTok deal. You mentioned in an answer that you think the odds of a deal are now lower, but anything is possible. That does not sound like high odds. Is that because Trump is looking for a payment to the Treasury for what he views as brokering a deal. Is this legal or does it matter with him? Or are there other reasons for lower odds. How would you place the odds at this point? It seems to have been awhile since MSFT was active in the M&A space.

Q: I hold these energy related stocks which are all in the red from 15% to 45%. In what order would you rank them? Would you sell all of them or keep some? If there is no tax loss that can be offset against tax gain, would you still sell some or all of them?

Q: Thank you for the quick response to my ER/AUG. After reading your response, I realized that with ER currently trading at .26, its way below the implied deal price of .42 and I would potentially be leaving a lot of money on the table if I was to sell now and buy AUG. Hence I am best to wait selling my ER to see where all this settles as you suggest. Having said that, my reason to sell was to capture a large loss on ER shares while keeping my AUG exposure - however, if the deal goes through, would the conversion to .117 shares of the new company FURY be considered a deemed disposition of ER??? In that case if I do nothing I would be able to claim the capital loss of ER and still get the new Fury shares if/when the deal goes through? Correct?

Q: I often see/read commentary ahead of earnings for a stock that it misses/beats a certain % of the time. This is often followed by a percentage of sensitivity or average strength of a move after earnings. My question is if you know of a source for both US listed and TSX stocks that shows each of these figures? As an example, Livongo and Guardant Health both report next week. Is there a source that can tell me how often GH beats or misses and what a typical % price move would be? The % move post earnings is the more important part of this question. It would seem to be helpful in setting a price point to buy on a post earnings dip or to sell into good news.
