Q: I have trimmed stakes in LSPD, KXS and REAL having got in at opportune times, they were disproportionate in my portfolio. Can you suggest a stock or two to likely to perform well even if there is a further downturn?

Q: Good morning and Happy Canada Day!
Thoughts on Evertz quarter and what your expectation of where the dividend goes from here. Would you expect them to return to .18 per quarter in short order or will we see a further cut ? Do you consider the dividend cut prudent or is it possible they are trying to chase away public shareholders and take the company private in the near term?

Q: I have a LIF consisting of these four. ENB at 15%, AW.UN, CPD and SIS all at around 27%. I will need to trim one or more for my annual withdrawal. Would you have any thoughts on the best candidate for a trim? Thanks as always for your advice.

Q: Covered Calls on positions held like: CDN Banks, BCE & T etc. I have never considered this strategy before; but, I am now. Reading up on it and would appreciate any comments/suggestions?

Selling covered calls on positions one has to earn extra income. I’ve been reading about it and it seems as though it is not something I should try? I noticed some ETFs do it to increase income payouts.

Q: US bank stress test.

I read about the recent stress test results. Apparently results in general are not great.
Apparently Wells Fargo may cut their dividend next quarter and JPM opened the door by saying it was possibility they too could cut in the future. Never heard of such from the Canadian banks.

I have 20% of my total RRSP portfolio in JPM, Bank America, and Bank of New York Mellon.

They big US banks in general performed very well since the financial recession but now I wonder for the future?

Q: What do you think of Nutrien for a long term hold right now? Yield is nice and things should be better in 5-8 years, which is my time frame. I’m low in materials.
