Q: Good morning 5i,
With the European green deal and Biden's plans to attack climate change, should result in solar panel and wind power installations, and with so much money being allocated to infrastructure projects, which companies could benefit from these two investments by Governments..
Thanks you for your much appreciated help.

Q: Hi, I’m interested in getting back into some solar stocks. Many have done well lately and I’ve read that there is lots of growth ahead still. I’m a growth investor with a +5-7 year time frame. What would be some of your top stocks in this sector and what are your some of your thoughts on investing in this industry? Thx!

Q: Hey 5i team,

It seems as though the solar power industry is gaining traction in the global market, and will continue to do so in the coming years.

With the ever-increasing efficiency of emerging storage solutions to help mitigate problems attributed with solar (ie the duck curve), it appears as though more nation's are beggining to view solar as a feasible option... I'm thinking about the South Australian government's plans for battery storage and India's solar boom.

Can you provide any comments on this trend, and are there any ETF's or indiviual stocks you like, that play the solar market on a global scale?

Always appreciate your input!

Q: Hi 5i,
What would you do with First Solar given the factors behind its recent plummeting? Is it an outright sell? I can afford to take a 3-5 year view with it, if it makes sense to do so. I am down substantially on the position but it is in a registered account so there is no tax loss angle to it. Nominally I think of the holding as part of a relatively small speculative pool within my portfolio so there are no real sector balancing consequences one way or another. Grateful for any thoughts. Thanks!

Q: Hello,

I am looking for something in the green energy space for a longer term hold. I would like to buy something in the solar industry and prefer a non utility stock as I have enough yield from that sector. I already own CSIQ and can buy either in the U.S. and Canada and have been looking at TSL. What are your thoughts on this company and do you see anything particularly interesting in the sector? Thank-you very much.

Q: I would like to invest in the solar energy space, and to that end have been keeping my eye on First Solar (FSLR) and Canadian Solar (CSIQ), both trading on the Nasdaq.

Of the two, which would you recommend for a full position, and why?

Alternatively, would you suggest a half position in each? (2.5%) Both seem to be making great gains in the past 6 months, and I'm not sure if I'm really comparing apples to apples anymore.

Thanks!
