Q: I have growing concern about my TECK investment. Although the company has many operations worldwide it appears to have significant copper +... producing mines as well as development projects in Chile and Peru.
Reuters, on May 17, ran an article titled "In world’s top copper region, political risk rises" The discussion suggests that Chile is overhalling its constitution and debating royalty changes. Peru's president has promised to make changes to keep 70% of mining profits in the country. Also, Peru has an election in June and a little-known socialist candidate is leading in the polls. I understand that both countries are struggling financially.
I would like to know how important are Chile and Peru to TECK's revenue and profit and your assessment of the potential problems for the company. I also own RIO and TKO for base metal exposure. If I sell TECK, what would you recommend as a possible replacement?
With appreciation
Ed

Q: What is your view on commodity prices relative to the recovery from the pandemic and/or the global efforts to curb carbon omissions? Is the demand outpacing supply and if so what are the companies or ETF's to hold over the coming years? Is there any particular metals that one should focus on?

Q: Followup to my question on materials that you answered today...My apologies....the ERO should have been the Canadian selection - I didn't notice it was showing the US one (Barclays). Would you add this to the selections you said you "lean to" or still keep the list as you stated in your answer. Thanks again.

Q: Hi 5i Team - For a long time the benefits of copper as an anti-microbial agent have been known but perhaps not widely. That recognition has been gaining steam as both public transportation systems and hospitals are considering using it in their touch surfaces and elsewhere. Although these innovations are on a small scale at this point, they will likely gain steam as the world seeks to find ways of reducing the transmission of viruses and also bacteria – any form of microbes. Obviously this is a very worthwhile goal! From an investment standpoint could you provide the names of two or three copper producers that you feel have the fundamentals to not only continue to produce copper at current levels but also might have the ability to increase their production. Thanks.

Q: ERO Copper recently gave an update on production and forecasts for 2020. I thought the results from 2019 were pretty good considering the issues in Q3. The outlook for 2020 is positive. There is a forecast for a deficit in Copper in a few years, not sure why we a seeing such a significant pullback.
