Q: I've learned recently that mRNA-based vaccines require extra cold storage (-70C; dry ice temperature). This will be a logistical challenge if such vaccines are approved. Two-part question:
1. Your thoughts on the impact of this logistical challenge on PFE/BNTX and MRNA?
2. Dry ice (solid CO2) lasts only about 3 days in insulated packages. Widespread mRNA vaccine distribution might depend on having a lot more dry ice produced at facilities near airports, shipping hubs, and smaller distribution centers. Any ideas for a play on dry ice via companies selling dry ice production equipment?
Many thanks! New subscriber this year and very satisfied!
Q: It looks as though renewable power is becoming politically accepted, with the above as assumed potential sector participants. What is the anticipated growth rate for each and to what extent have each potentially already discounted the coming year's anticipated growth in value. I Look forward to your response.

Q: Good Morning... what are your thoughts on NVTA? Would you be buyers or sellers heading into the merger? Does the future seem bright and profitable to you for the combined company and the space they're in?
I have CSU journaled over to a US cash account. With the spin out coming, what are the tax implications of leaving it there? Or should I journal them back to my Canadian cash account?
Q: What area your thoughts on the upcoming IPO that Tourmaline is doing on Topaz energy. Topaz estimates that upwards of 90% of cash flow will be distributed as dividends. Would this be a good dividend play or is this very speculative ?

Q: The Fed has basically said that it will keep interest rates low for the foreseeable future, and allow inflation to run a bit higher, to average 2% longer-term.
It looks as if we will be heading into a new investment environment where interest rates could be lower than inflation for an extended period of time. In this type of environment, what factors, sectors and geographic regions do you see doing well? Given the high current valuations for high tech and FAANG stocks, do you continue to recommend overweighting this sector for the next few years?
Q: I would appreciate clarification about US estate taxes. I have found conflicting information on the internet as to when they apply. A BMO FAQ ( http://www.cetfa.ca/files/1551199672_bmo_etfs_-_faq_tax_season_en%20(1)%20-%20Updated.pdf ) states:
High net worth Canadians with worldwide assets exceeding US$11.4M
(2019, indexed to inflation) or have U.S. assets with a value that
exceeds US$60,000 may be required to pay U.S. estate tax on
the value of their U.S. assets. Canadian ETFs are generally are not
considered U.S. assets.
My understanding is that if Canadians held US ETFs, and their net worth was less than $11.4M US, then Canadians did not pay US estate tax. Is my understanding correct? On the internet, I have also seen references ( https://www.taxtips.ca/personaltax/usestatetax.htm ) to a $1.2M US cutoff figure before US estate taxes apply.
Thank you in advance for clarifying this information, and for this wonderful service.
