Q: i was wondering if your team would be willing to address an issue for people moving assets out of their RIF. Just a generalized response would be of help as most advisors are in the selling business, which is understandable.
Thank you and happy Thanksgiving to everyone at 5i.
Q: May I have your current thoughts on the iShares U.S. Medical Devices ETF (IHI). After a tough three months and today's 5% dip would you consider it an opportune time to add for medium to long term investors, or is it better to let it find its feet first?
Q: With the recent conflict in Israel, the forecasted coming recession in North America, and continued high interest rates for the foreseeable future, would now be a good entry point to buy SU? If not, what range would be reasonable to buy it at?
Would you say that SU has good looking prospects for an increase in share price for an investment horizon of 3 to 5 years? I am looking for a decent dividend to be accompanied by stock appreciation. Or, if the price appreciates significantly sooner than that, I could exit at that point too. Thank you for your insights.
Q: Hi team
I have around 150,000 in money market funds which is earning decent interest
I am going to use the above as a cushion so that if the stock market went down further , I do not have any worries
interest rates can still go up, but eventually cold come down so that the nice returns from the money market fund would be not as good
my strategy
put 1/3, around 50,000, put it in a ladder GIC 10,000 dollars each matures in 1-5 years in five 10,000 amount
put 1/3 into bonds, using a broad Cdn bond etf, something like XBB , XBD with lower risks; any suggestions of a mix Cdn high grade bond fund (no junk bonds) would be appreciated
and the remaining 1/3 continue to put it in the money market fund as the inflation could be hard to control and interest rates continue to peak;
I wonder what you think of my strategy?
any suggestions would be appreciated
thanks
Michael
Q: In a growth portfolio, if someone follow your steps and exit Telus Int but want to stay fully invested, which cies will you suggest as a replacement?
Q: Hi 5i, I heard Bill Gross suggesting AGNC on CNBC what do you folks think about this ticker. Also curious of what you think of FIS as a investment. Your thoughts are apreisiated.
Q: Hi
What is so great about Nextera Energy. They have almost doubled their debt since 2018 from about 38 billion to 72 billion. They have been raising their dividend roughly 10% a year and not even coming close to earning it. Their FCF per share alone in 2022 was Negative .74 Cents, yet their paying out $1.69..
The 2 years prior was just as bad. The return on their assets in 2021 was only 1.44% and 2022 was 1.57%

Q: Over close to ten years the balanced portfolio on 5i has generally outperformed the growth portfolio. The five year rate of return as of September 2023 is better. Can you comment on the numbers please.
Now a few weeks after this highly anticipated IPO ARM holdings, would you look at this as a good play towards the Ai and global chips market.? How is this company and Nvidia connected if at all? What is a price that would be a screaming buy in your opinion? I own Nvidia already with a hefty profit, I was thinking to sell some and buy ARM just want to know who you think has better lift in this exciting space.
Thanks
