Q: Hi Peter/Ryan, I've never held an American company in my accounts and was thinking of adding either BA or LMT in either my TFSA or RRSP account. Which company would you suggest and which account would be better for it, oh and is there a good reason not to hold an American company in either of these account. Thanks for all you guys do.

Q: Hi,

What do you think of US energy stocks for the next two years? Is it too late to get in?

If not, which would you recommend?

Q: A few questions about the blog article "The Bigger Short" by The Intercept. Do you concur with the thesis that there could be a crisis in U.S. commercial real estate due to the overstatement of the retail borrowers ability to repay loans and mortgages and the repackaging of such loans into trusts (similar to residential mortgages before 2008)? If I read it right U.S. banks and other lenders could be in jeopardy. Would there be a similar situation in Canada and would companies such as BAM.A be susceptible. No rush on answering and take as many credits as necessary. Thanks.

Q: Non-registered account with goal of primarily dividend income has done quite well, with all of the noted holdings nicely in positive territory. In hind sight MG and SYZ would have been in a registered account. SYZ is up 63%, MG 24%.
Overall account yield is currently 3.8%. Would prefer it closer to 5%
Need some help with this "good problem". Take capital gain now and move into yieldier positions, or let running stocks run and deal with bigger gain in future?
If I move out of some of the growthier stocks, which div payers minimum 3% yield to move into?
Overall portfolio diversification is pretty decent, and diversification within this account does not have to be perfect - dividend security within this account is more important.

Thanks,
Jim

Q: I have some USD within my business account from US client payments. Rather than holding as cash at the current exchange rate, I'm thinking of investing it into something that would produce some yield. It's within my Canadian Corporation, not sure the implications around US Dividends within a Corp?

I see more upside in the individual tickers mentioned, but buying the index is an easier means of setting and forgetting. Any insight or other names that would be of interest? I'd say I'm less open to significant risk with this capital coming from the Corp.
