Q: High Arctic reported a loss for the quarter. Because so many Canadian operators have reduced their capex budgets for 2019, High Arctic probably won't do much this year, along with the rest of the service companies. The share price is at a 52 week low; is this a good time to step in for a 3 - 5 year hold? Comments on the dividend, insider ownership and management, please. Thanks!

Q: A good chunk of my TFSA was chugging along nicely to the tune of KWH and its nice dividend, but ... alas ... no more!
Thinking of redistributing the money into WCP ... or any of the others in the energy sector mentioned above. Your thoughts?
I've also been toying with avoiding the sector altogether in this account (since I hold Enbridge and Algonquin Power in an RSP) ... and stepping over to Savaria?
The crystal ball question (without holding anybody to account is!) ... is ... which is likely to do better ... the energy picks, or Savaria? (I'm looking for a dividend with some growth in this account.)
If I should avoid ALL of these at the moment, any other thoughts on "growth with dividend"?
Thanks, as always!

Q: HWO's Q1 results were hardly encouraging, but in view of its dividend, its lack of debt and its long operating history (inc. near-death in 2009), is there a price at which it becomes interesting - or is it just as likely to keep eroding to tax-loss season?
Q: can you comment on their first quarter earning? If owned what % would be the maximum you would hold?
Thanks
Thanks

Q: High Arctic To Buy Precision Drilling Snubbing Assets for $8.25 million. Looks to me like they are taking advantage of market conditions and using cash on hand. Do you see this as a positive.
Thanks John

Q: HWO Would appreciate your review of recent financial results.
Can you also explain the comment "Consistent with prior quarters, High Arctic declared $2.5 million ($0.05 per share) in dividends during the quarter which represents 125% of funds provided from operations in the quarter." and is this a concern.
Thanks
John

Q: In a questioned asked on Nov 15th your replied
“We are comfortable with HWO, but it too is down on the year and the sector still looks horrible. It will likely see some tax loss selling and we would look at this in the New Year instead. “
What are your current views on the sector and would you be a buyer of HWO today?
Thanks
John

Q: Recent news "Feb 1 (Reuters) - U.S. energy firms this week cut the number of oil rigs operating for a fourth time in the past five weeks as some drillers follow through on plans to spend less on new wells this year."
Is this news or sentiment that is likely to affect Hwo?

Q: Could I have your current top 4 or 5 picks in the junior to mid cap Canadian energy sector please. Thanks, Don
Q: Would you be e a buyer of HWO? I currently only own WCP for energy sector and am thinking of buying this and maybe LGO. I know this sector is out of favor at the moment so would be best to avoid for now or okay to add 2 mores companies to this sector.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: High Artic beat all estimates but the stock has not responded positively.
Should I assume its just an "irrational market" or is there some other explanation.
Thanks

Q: Hi,
thanks to 5i, my portfolio is fairly well diversified and overall doing quite well. The equities listed in this question are the ones I'm down on the most, some are near 25-50% losses. What general guidelines help determine whether to sell these 'losers' and move the remaining funds to other stocks or whether to continue to hold? Can you list each of these with a buy/sell/hold on a longer term (20 yr) view, these are all 1-5% each of the total portfolio. Deduct as many credits as needed since there are really two questions here.

Q: of all the companies listed, I currently have the same percentage of holding that is in the 5i portfolio. Which of these stocks would you be comfortable buying today and making it a 4-5 % holding as I have some cash and would like to average down. I am a young investor with a long horizon as these stocks are all in my RRSP.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Hello 5i
I just sold a small amount of Precison Drilling to recuperate a tax loss. I don't really want to keep anything like this permanantly in my portfolio but was hoping to buy it back in 30 days in order to get back at least what I paid for it. Is there any other stock that I could use as a substitute in the meantime?
thanks

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
I have suffered as have many with losses in this sector( most of which I have crystallized. I still own HWO, SES and CEU. Assuming I want to stay in the sector would you replace any of the above with either
TCW, SHLE or STEP.
Your opinion and supporting rationale is appreciated. Please dock my questions as you see fit
Thanks for all you do
