Q: Hi, In addition to reason cited for recent spike in stock price, per your response to John's question, Sylogist was also upgraded by Cormark (the only brokerage covering this co.) on Sep 18 to Top Pick from Buy and price target raised to $18 from $16. The analyst also raised the full year EPS forecast to $0.50 for FY2019 and $0.62 for FY2020. Thanks

Q: I would like to purchase some dividend paying stocks for a non-registered account. What would be your top five recommendations for dividend paying stocks (minimum 3.5 % payout) that are also likely to have some capital appreciation over the next 3 years. Please do not include pipeline or financial stocks as I all ready have these two areas well covered. Also, are your recommendations good buys at this time.

Thanks

Q: Hi, Sylogist stock is trading near its all time high, after Cormark's coverage. I am aware that a few months ago 5i sold the stock in Balanced Portfolio. However, we kept our core holding and are quite happy with it. We started a family memeber's portfolio (LIRA) recently with some cash and have invetsed in PBH, TSGI, KXS,SIS,SJ and TCL.a. Still waiting for an opportunity for CSU and BYD.un. What do you think of SYZ at current prices to be added ? Thanks

Q: Sylogist has been buying back shares in the market. I really don't see a big benefit in this seeing how the stock is already so illiquid, and we are already so late in a cycle. Is it really that hard to spend some of the 30million cash on something accretive where it is more beneficial to be buying back shares? Has the company stated in a conference call what they plan on doing with the cash and if they are looking to deploy it soon?
Thanks.

Q: Hi, I am wondering why you removed syz from your income portfolio (I believe that is where it was if I remember). It looks like today we had a bit of a break out and is making new highs. The stock doesn't seem to do anything on the flashy side on any given day, but seems to be chugging upwards with a decent dividend. Please advise on your current view and todays move through the prior highs. Could it be investors seeing potential and moving into the name after earnings? Thanks.
