Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: In the past you said you like NBIS better than IREN as it is higher quality and further ahead, etc. Now that NBIS stock has way outperformed, ATHs and possibly overbought/consolidating, does IREN stock have good investment potential or do you still prefer NBIS at these levels?

Q: Sorry to come back on the same question but I forgot a couple details.

We bought NBIS in Oct/2025 ain our cash account and sold in Dec/2025 for a big loss, and claimed capital loss on 2025 tax.
We rebought in our TFSA in Feb/2026. We had harvested profits from CLS and SHOP in June/2025, both of which were held in the TFSA for over a year. We are considering harvesting some NBIS profits but are cautious about CRA interpretation, since we've only held NBIS in the TFSA for 2+ months.
In light of the capital loss claimed in the the cash account, and now a sale after a 2 month hold in a TFSA, I wonder if the sale of NBIS now and possible repurchase if it drops, would trigger something with CRA.
I realize you are not in the tax business and are not lawyers so any views or experience would be taken in that light.
Thanks for all your guidance

Q: I am looking to purchase one of these 3. Each seems to recently have had a bit of a price decrease. The purchase is intended as a long term, dividends are not needed. Which would you favour, and why? Thank you for your excellent service.

Q: Hi 5i
With respect to Johns question today on pe numbers. Where do you find these numbers?
My brokerage on TD show RY's PE at 16.54 and BM's PE at 17.
Wondering why the big difference?

Having read your response to johns question I understand at higher PE they are trading at a little pricey share price.
At these levels it seems prudent to lighten holdings?
However do you have any insight into who is majority buyers at these levels, is it institutional buyers or mainstreet action?
thx

Q: Everyone, message from Joel on April 20, “ Q: First, want to thank you for the service provided over the years. I recently reached a financial milestone (another 0 at the end of the net worth statement at age 33) and 5i played a massive part. Biggest elements were the great stock picks (obviously) which allowed me to outperform the market quite a bit, as well as the reassurance to stay long when the market has a fit.”
I started investing on my own with great assistance from 5i and over the last 15 years my returns are more than twice the market. This is due to the financial help and confidence from 5I. Many thanks to all the staff at 5i. Clayton
