Q: What do you make of the thesis that the next decade will not belong to tech stocks but instead to commodities? I have always avoided commodities, believing the the cure for high prices is high prices (lithium for a recent example). Once interest rates start getting cut, won’t we just be back to tech stocks looking like the best area for growth again?

Q: Hi 5i ,
Thoughts on TSU’s earnings here? Do you believe in the adjust earnings after ANOTHER surprise one time loss. It’s down over 20% ytd. Is this a table pounding buy?

Q: I own TSU, can you explain why it has pulled back so much recently. Is this an opportunity to add to my holding.
Thanks

Q: I have been letting Nvidia run and it has been doing so nicely, thanks 5i. It's almost a 6% portfolio weight for me now. I am 71 and it is held in a RRIF. If this was your account would you pare it back and if so to what level. Thank You
Q: Hi,
Your previous answer to a valuation question was $7.50 present value on a discounted basis. The stock is at $4.70 real time. Does this mean sooner on later on fundamentals it should trade in this range and it is at a deep discount now. That a little bit of patience barring no surprises or economic slump and you will be rewarded.

Q: Hi 5i,
As a follow up to a dividend question yesterday on PPL: apart from changing the dividend from monthly payout to quarterly, is the dividend also been switched to CAD dollars only? I hold company in taxable, US side of account as part of US dividend portfolio.
If the dividend is indeed being paid ONLY in CAD, can you recommend a replacement Canadian company of similar quality, similar yield that pays in USD? Any sector ok…

Q: hi,
I am just off the phone with my accountant to finish off the corporate year end. we got to discussing investments, and Brookfield came up. my accountant echoed what I have heard over the years as a concern re Brookfield's business' and accounting. my accountant would not invest in Brookfield entities at this point, as they cannot fully understand the underlying business', or the accounting "complexities" (my interpretation of their more negative opinion). I still hold a reasonable amount of BAM and BEP.un, but am a bit worried about these issues. can I have your latest thoughts on this? cheers, Chris

Q: What are the best dividend ETFs for a retired Canadian for long term hold? Is it advisable to hold more than 1? If so, how many would be optimal?
Q: I read with tremendous interest the Credit Suisse Global Investment Returns Yearbook 2023 Summary Edition you recently forwarded to members. Impressively researched. Two follow up questions for 5i. First, do you concur with the Report's conclusions that there is an 80% likelihood that inflation will linger for several years? And secondly, the Report suggests the best hedge against inflation is a
balanced portfolio of collateralized commodity futures. Do you agree? And if an investor were to follow this advice, how would one proceed (i.e. what sort of vehicle(s) and what portfolio %)? Thank you.

Q: hello 5i:
first, would this be your favourite Covered Call Energy ETF? If not, what do you like better? Second, how much of the dividend is return of capital?
thanks

Q: Your current view on the company and its prospects. thanks
Q: Please provide your comments on the recent quarterly & full year report and outlook for BTE. Thanks
Q: Hello, we need to increase our weighting in Industrials, with current holdings mostly CNR (5%). Based on various BNN guests views and as finetuned with 5i recommendations, we have shortlisted these 3 names and the intention is to build at least 3% weighting, in each or all of these names. Could you please rank them based on your conviction. Also, would appreciate it if you could also provide a decent entry level as well as an Excellent Buy price. Thank You
Q: In a response to Cal yesterday regarding ENB you stated that the loss of Line 5 "would certainly be a materially negative event for the company". I am trying to determine if this should result in my cutting back on my full position of ENB (5%). So I would appreciate it if you could expand on what a "materially negative impact" means. Also, do you have an opinion on the likelihood that Line 5 will be shut down?
Thank you.
Note I thought I had sent this question yesterday but a tech glitch may have prevented it being sent.
