Q: Peter, I am a 75 year old active and avid stock picking DIY investor and have been pretty successful thanks very much to you and the staff at 5i Research. However, my wife has no interest and no knowledge to manage our portfolios if something were to happen to me. And with a nod to Warren Buffett I believe I would like to leave clear instructions that our stocks be sold off and the funds invested in a passive 80/20 equity/bond (or what split would you recommend?) all in one ETF that would provide for my wife for the rest of her life.
What ETF would you recommend for this? And is one truly enough?
Thanks. David

Q: I am interested in NXT at the current price of $52.ish but am puzzled at the recent drop from the $60.00 level which appears to be due to lack of volume once it hit $62.00. Is this still a buy or are there other possible reasons for the drop ?

Q: Greetings 5i, I have earmarked this company as a sale candidate to raise cash, timing is before the end of this year. Would you sell now into recent strength or continue to hold for additional upside, perhaps due to another dividend increase or other catalyst? Thanks.
Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
I have been following this pet food company for some time. It has had some problems this past year. However this past quarter it failed to file returns and is in violation. The stock is at a low price but maybe a value trap or possibly contrarian play. I would appreciate your opinion...thanks immensely.

Q: Hi team
I am fully invested in BCE , for steady income and abit of growth, it has been hit by lower share prices
I am in a 50% position in ENB, again for steady income and abit of growth
does it make sense to sell part of BCE and use the proceeds to buy ENB
same goal, steady income and some growth
your outlook for ENB would be appreciated as well,
thanks
Michael

Q: Hello fellow 5i community,
New ETF investor question here. I have no experience with ETF's and therefore have none in my investment portfolio. Based on all the Q&A's and my own research, this is an area I need to get into. Can you please recommend your top picks (open to all suggestions both geo and industry - please rank) and how many ETF's would you recommend if also investing in individual stocks? (including % of a portfolio). Thank you

Q: Good Morning,
Do you fell that SMCI is in a consolidation phase after it's rapid run-up, or has the shine rubbed off for a much longer time frame. It's now down over 25% from peak.
Thanks.
Brad

Q: I am hearing good things about Cruise Ships. People don't want to pay High Air fares and High Hotel prices so are moving towards taking a Cruise . What companies do you recommend RAK
Q: Hello 5i,
As always, thank you for your insight. Back to basics question here and have a 2 part question.
Understanding you cannot make personal recommendations, would be very interested in your picks if you were building your portfolio from scratch with example $500K in funds and what your approach would be as it relates to portfolio diversification if you were a balanced/growth investor. In addition, what would you consider as best practice in terms of percentage allocation to different industries/ number of positions overall.
Assuming diversification, I am interested in your perspective as it relates to Dividends.
Can you please recommend what overall percentage of a portfolio should one consider for dividend stocks and your top picks (any industry and market?). Thank you in advance.

Q: Greetings, the above companies are all currently held (among others) in a Canadian dividend growth portfolio. For new money, what would be your top 5 choices to add to today? Long-term hold, income and stability with growth potential are key criteria. Would also like to maintain some sector diversification.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Hello 5i, Could you comment on the deal between Chord and Enerplus also if there is any chance that Devon could come in with a better offer. I own Enerplus and would like to know if to sell into the current market or hold for a better offer?
Q: Hello 5i,
Could you please share your thoughts regarding the TSLA robotaxies announcement.
Also do you think there are downsides in owning TSLA via the CDR as opposed to the US stock directly? Is $16 CAD a good entry point for the TSLA CDR?
Thank you

Q: This is in the context of the interactive chart in the Company Profile section. If I take Enbridge (ENB:CA) as an example here is what I get in terms of growth over 5 years:
+37.10% (Company Profile / Interactive Chart)
-2.42% (using either iPhone Stocks App or Yahoo Finance or my Online Broker).
After some research, I found out that the interactive chart in Company Profile probably uses Adjusted close price adjusted for splits and dividend and/or capital gain distributions. The others are using the close price adjusted for splits. It seems to me that if we want to see the pure growth of a company, it is better to use the close price adjusted for splits which might not reflect the total return, but is very useful for analyzing price trends without the influence of distributions. What do you think? Is it possible to adjust the chart so that we can see both versions? Thank you
